SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — If you're single in San Diego, chances are you're not impressed by the dating field locally. At least according to Apartment List, which ranked 130 cities on their ability to provide singles with the best atmosphere. San Diego is, well, lukewarm according to the study. The city ranked 73 overall, right in the middle of the park and posting an overall score of 48 out of 100 possible points.RELATED: Love hurts: Price of a date in San Diego could cost you, study saysThe study ranked cities on their dating satisfaction, social satisfaction, dating affordability, and percentage of reported singles, using data from Apartment List’s Annual Renter Satisfaction Survey and Census Bureau American Community Survey 2017.When it broke down that way, only about 22% of respondents were satisfied with the dating in San Diego. How women and men feel about dating locally may give us an idea about why the city ranked where it did. About 17% of women and 35% of men were satisfied with dating here.Far more San Diegans, about 58%, were satisfied with their social lives in town. And looking at census data, the city posted a measly 22 out of 100 for percentage of singles.RELATED: Ideas for a first date in San DiegoAccording to Apartment List, San Diego's lacking singles population and low satisfaction rate with dating here don't make it an inviting city for singles. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Interstate 15 Express Lane signs are being changed from white to green, with other improvements, at a cost of .5 million, the San Diego County Association of Governments said Thursday.A research effort determined that the existing signs could be difficult for drivers to read, and that information about toll rates and permission to use the lanes was unclear, according to SANDAG."There's quite a bit of confusion on the motorists part, trying to understand, can I actually get in there as a carpool or not?" said Ray Traynor, SANDAG's director of operations. "Having a system that's clear to the end users is vitally important so that the lanes operate effectively."A spokesman for Caltrans says research showed a green sign with white text was more difficult to read, with the amount of information on the sign. The I-15 Express Lanes stretch for 20 miles between SR-78 in Escondido and SR-163 in Kearny Mesa. There are more than 16 access points where drivers can move in or out of the lanes.WHAT WILL CHANGEThe upgraded signs were designed to address the concerns from I-15 commuters.Improvements include: 1153

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Long wait times have always been a problem at the DMV, the way to avoid that was to make an appointment online to skip the long lines. For people needing to renew their license like Debby Herscovitz, they had to plans months in advance, “I went online, booked an appointment, but I had no idea it was going to be in March”. Herscovitz got a notification from the DMV in the mail to renew her license back in December and immediately tried to make an appointment. She tells us the first available time slot was at the end of March, “I absolutely had no idea it was going to take that long”. A DMV representative tells 10News, drivers are trying to avoid the hours long line at the DMV by making an appointment online. Because so many people are scheduling appointments, the appointments are filling up faster than ever before. For Herscovitz, her appointment would have taken a total of 15 minutes to get her Real ID, however she didn’t have all the necessary documents. The DMV tells 10News to help people adjust to the new requirements and be prepared for their appointments they have a video people can watch before they make the trip in. Despite having to plan months in advance, the DMV says it’s still the best idea to schedule an appointment online before heading to a nearby office. Tips to keep in mind that could help with the scheduling process: don’t rule out nearby offices because some might not be as busy as others. Also, continue to check back online to see if any cancellations were made. Here in San Diego, there are also a few offices with extended hours and that are open on Saturdays. The Chula Vista DMV opens an hour earlier on certain days of the week. Poway, San Marcos, Chula Vista and Clairemont have Saturday appointments available. 1788
