Monday was a day one fan of pop star Pink will never forget. At a concert on Monday in Australia, Pink spotted a fan's sign that said she was a 14-year-old fan and wanted a hug from Pink after the death of her mother. According to a number of videos posted on social media, Pink spotted the sign and took a moment to leave the stage to visit the fan identified by the Australian ABC as Leah Murphy. According to the Australian ABC, Leah and her mother had tickets for Pink's concert on Monday in Brisbane. But unfortunately for Leah, her mother died in June. Instead of Leah's mother attending the concert, aunt Katrina Dorkin was in attendance. Dorkin and a cadre of Leah's friends in the crowd held up signs to try to get the singer's attention.  790

MT. LAGUNA, Calif. (KGTV) - A new destination outside San Diego's City limits is challenging people to unglue from technology and live with less. It's called Tiny House Block and is currently made up of 10 tiny homes nestled in Mt. Laguna. "The vision of Tiny House Block is to create a place where community converges, where we celebrate unity through diversity, where we all get to experience our shared humanity," said Jon Block, who co-founded the village with his sister. "Some wise people realized, enough of the madness already! And decided, not for financial reasons, but for happiness, peace of mind, pure lifestyle choice, decided to go smaller."Each of the tiny houses has a theme, including Farmhouse, Stargazer, and Sedona Spirit; they range from 170 sq/ft to 500 sq/ft.A customer favorite is Greenhouse, a tiny house dedicated to cannabis, conversation, and community. "We are creating a resort village here, we want people to have a certain vibration, and they're here to really get away, and they want to connect with other people on a similar type of wavelength," said Block. Block hopes to have 25 homes in the village by next year and invites visitors to stay for a few nights or long term. You can book your tiny house getaway on Airbnb. NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A National City family was shocked Monday when they showed up at their business and noticed someone broke-in and vandalized their business. Dulce Tablas' parents own Diva's Fashion 2 in National City, a store in which they sell formal clothing like ball gowns and tuxedos. The family also owns a banquet hall and a second clothing store. The family showed up to find their storefront window broken, glass all over the ground and a designer quincea?era dress, worth over 0, gone. The person who took the dress grabbed it from the mannequin. Tablas says it will cost the family over ,000 to fix the window. The family is wondering if they were targeted. Last week, during the Black Lives Matter protests, they decided to paint the phrase on their windows. After the break-in, Tablas said she noticed the phrase had an "X" through it. The break-in came on the same day the family decided to close down one of their locations, not able to survive during the COVID-19 pandemic. The business that was vandalized is the one staying open. The family also says they had insurance and surveillance cameras but they had cut the expense in April since they were closed due to the pandemic. Tablas mom tells 10News it is a move she now regrets. Diva's Fashion 2 now has a fundraising page on Facebook, to help the family with the repairs for the window. If you'd like to donate, click here. The crime was reported to National City Police. 1470

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. -- Summer may not officially start for a few more weeks, but a different season is now in full swing: Farmers Market season.“Our season is April through September,” said Tracy Richter, who oversees the Farmers Market in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.Just when it was about to open this year, the coronavirus pandemic sprouted up, forcing a temporary closure and then requiring changes to comply with social distancing.“We had them set up booths with an entrance and an exit,” Richter said. “So, only one way in, one way out. We restricted the number of shoppers they could have in those booths to two.”Normally, there would be 45 vendors at the farmers market, but they had to reduce that number down to 10 because of the coronavirus. They are slowly trying to get back to normal, though, and plan to add 10 more next week.Richter is lucky – the local municipality funds this market. For other market operators around the country, however, the financial picture is much more dire.“For them, this is a very challenging situation,” said Ben Feldman of the Farmers Market Coalition. He said coronavirus relief funds have bypassed these nonprofit markets, at a time when operators are having to limit the number of vendors and shoppers, as well as spend additional money on virus-related expenses, like personal protective equipment.“Unfortunately, much of the relief to date has left farmers markets out of the equation, even as there have been direct payments for many businesses,” Feldman said. Now, some are in danger of closing – nearly 20-percent of those recently surveyed in California alone. Feldman said the next coronavirus stimulus bill needs to include these markets, which are often a crucial food source and livelihood.“If these farmers markets aren’t able to remain in business, then farmers and consumers are the ones who lose here - because farmers lose their livelihood, consumers lose their access to fresh fruits and vegetables,” he said.Back in South Carolina, Tracy Richter is focused on getting the market through the reality of now and looking forward to later.“Hopefully by next April,” she said, “everything will be more back to normal.” 2188

MLB and the league’s player union held negotiations this week, days after a contentious series of statements between the league and union indicated the 2020 season is in peril. The league and players are working on a plan to begin the 2020 season after it was postponed by the spread of the coronavirus. With most professional sports leagues coming back this summer, MLB has yet to formalize a plan for resumption.MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said that a new set of proposals have been forwarded to the players. The tone from Manfred on Wednesday differed from earlier in the week.“We left that meeting with a jointly developed framework that we agreed could form the basis of an agreement and subject to conversations with our respective constituents,” Manfred said. “I summarized that framework numerous times in the meeting and sent Tony a written summary today. Consistent with our conversations yesterday, I am encouraging the Clubs to move forward and I trust Tony is doing the same.”Earlier on Wednesday, reports surfaced that the league and players have finalized a deal, but those reports appeared to be premature as the MLBPA said that no agreement has been made.At odds is the number of games to be played, and whether players will be paid a full prorated amount for those games. MLB said that based on an agreement between the leagues and players days after the league suspended Spring Training, players would only be paid a full prorated salary if games were held in front of fans. As of now, the likelihood of MLB games being played in front of fans this season appears to be low.The players union has complained that the league is attempting to play the fewest number of games possible.“The commissioner has repeatedly threatened to schedule a dramatically shortened season unless players agree to hundreds of millions in further concessions,” the MLBPA said on June 13. “Our response has been consistent that such concessions are unwarranted, would be fundamentally unfair to players, and that our sport deserves the fullest 2020 season possible.” 2069
