BEIJING, May 31 (Xinhua) -- China's top quality supervisor said Monday that Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Co. has started a recall of 236,643 Focus cars over a problem that caused vehicles to stall.The recall covered vehicles manufactured from August 18, 2008, to May 28 this year by the joint venture owned by Ford, Chongqing-based Changan Automobile and Mazda Motor Corp., the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement on its website.The company posted a similar statement on its website Monday, saying the recall came after several customers complained about stalling when the car was moving at low speeds, which was because of the engine software.Both statements said the company would provide the customers with updated engine software free of charge.

"The visit is successful," he said.Important agreements were reached at his talks with Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, including re-establishing a hot line between the heads of the two governments, creating a maritime communication mechanism between the two defense departments and speeding up the establishment of a maritime rescue agreement, Wen said.The two sides also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral economic and trade cooperation, and identified green economy, energy and environmental protection and e-commerce as priority areas for cooperation, he said."Cooperation between China and Japan enjoys broad prospects," said Wen.The Chinese premier also called for promoting bilateral cultural and people-to-people exchanges, saying these exchanges are fundamental to the friendship between the two countries.After concluding a three-day visit to Japan earlier Tuesday, Wen is now in Mongolia for a two-day official visit.

BRASILIA, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao met his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev Thursday in Brasilia to discuss bilateral ties and other important issues of common concern.It was the first meeting between the two leaders since they met on the sidelines of the Economic Leaders' Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in Singapore last November.Hu and Medvedev were meeting on the sidelines of a summit of BRIC nations, namely Brazil, Russia, India and China.At the BRIC summit slated for Thursday, leaders of China, Brazil, Russia and India will discuss the global economy and financial situation, reform of the international financial system, climate change and cooperation among the four countries. Chinese President Hu Jintao (R) meets with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in Brasilia, Brazil, April 15, 2010.
