A United Airlines flight made an unscheduled stop at Washington Dulles International Airport on Friday after an odor in the cabin left passengers feeling ill.Flight 1675 from Baltimore-Washington Airport (BWI) was en route to San Francisco International Airport (SFO), when it landed at Dulles at about 7:45 a.m.The plane landed without incident, according to a statement from Dulles International Airport. The Fire and Rescue Department responded to the scene and transported seven passengers to local hospitals for evaluation, the statement said.Raman Santra, one of the passengers on the flight, said that there was a "faint fuel smell" in the cabin before departure. The odor became "quite strong while in the air" and several passengers complained of nausea, chest pain and trouble breathing, Santra said.United Airlines canceled the flight and informed passengers that the aircraft, a Boeing 737, required "prolonged ventilation system maintenance," Santra said.Santra's wife, Jo Palmer, was one of the seven hospitalized because she had more acute symptoms. He said United Airlines representatives offered to take care of the hospital bills and other expenses.Palmer is doing better now, and the two hope to make it to their friend's wedding later Friday, Santra told CNN.United Airlines did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The incident did not impact airport operations, Dulles officials said.The-CNN-Wire? & ? 2019 Cable News Network, Inc., a Time Warner Company. After two days spent basking in royal attention, President Donald Trump turned Wednesday to more solemn matters: commemorating 75 years since the Normandy landings. He traveled to the English south coast for a ceremony at Portsmouth Harbor, near where allied forces set off for the beaches in France in their bid to retake Europe during World War II.Earlier in the morning, Trump's mind was in a less reverent place. He tweeted barbs directed at former Vice President Joe Biden, the news media and the actress Bette Midler -- all before 8 a.m. local time in London -- where he was spending a second night in the US ambassador's residence. In Britain, an interview Trump had conducted a day earlier with ITV host Piers Morgan was airing on breakfast television.Asked about his own avoidance of war service -- Trump received a draft determent from Vietnam due to bone spurs in his foot -- the President criticized that American effort, even as he was preparing to commemorate an earlier one."Well, I was never a fan of that war I'll be honest with you. I thought it was a terrible war, I thought it was very far away," he said.Trump revealed he'd carried out a "great conversation" about climate change with Prince Charles, an ardent campaigner on the perils of global warming.Trump said he was "moved" by the Prince of Wales' passion on the matter. But asked whether he personally believes in climate change, Trump said "there is a change in weather and I think it changes both ways."It was an illustration of Trump's ability in the UK to both flatter his hosts and undermine their positions. His gracious remarks on Tuesday about outgoing British Prime Minister Theresa May seemed to put to rest any lingering animosity between the two, even as he met with one of her fiercest critics, Brexit campaigner Nigel Farage, hours later. On Wednesday, Trump joined the leaders of other countries who took part in the war, along with Queen Elizabeth II, to mark three-quarters of a century since D-Day. It's a precursor to the main anniversary events, which will take place at the American cemetery in Normandy on Thursday, the actual anniversary of the landings.Trump alluded to the shared history in a toast Monday evening at Buckingham Palace, where he was attending a white tie banquet hosted by the Queen. The US and the UK "defeated the Nazis and the Nazi regime, and liberated millions from tyranny," Trump said in his toast. The Queen, meanwhile, hailed the institutions that were born out of the bloodshed, saying "we are forever mindful of the original purpose of these structures."As an embarkation point for the landings, Portsmouth carries historic weight. Before the invasion, US troops were stationed in the city and afterward, some injured servicemen returned for treatment here. After the event, Trump will travel to western Ireland, where he is staying for the remainder of his time in Europe at the golf course he owns in Doonbeg. He'll also meet the country's prime minister Leo Varadkar inside the VIP lounge at Shannon Airport -- a compromise venue after the Irish government balked at meeting at Trump's property. 3135

Actress Allison Mack has pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy and racketeering relating to her alleged role in a sex trafficking case.John Marzulli, Public Information Officer for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York confirmed Mack's plea, which was entered Monday. As part of her guilty plea, Mack admitted to state law extortion and forced labor.Attorneys for Mack did not immediately respond to a request for comment.Mack was arrested in April 2018 and charged for her alleged involvement with an organization called Nxivm (pronounced NEX-ium), a group that claimed to be a self-help program but was, in reality, a pyramid scheme in which some recruits were exploited "both sexually and for their labor, to the defendants' benefit," according to U.S. attorney Richard P. Donoghue.Mack is accused of recruiting women to join what she told them was a female mentorship group when, in fact, it was an organization created and led by Nxivm's founder, Keith Raniere, also known within the group as Vanguard.Last year, Mack, best known for her role as Clark Kent's clever confidant Chloe on CW's "Smallville," was indicted on charges of sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy and forced labor conspiracy, according to a statement released by the Justice Department. She pleaded not guilty at the time.Officials said Mack, 36, was the co-creator of a program within Nxivm, which was targeted toward actors.Mack's charges stemmed from what officials said were activities that took place as part of a secret society within Nxivm called "DOS," in which women recruited and groomed others under false pretenses to be sexual partners for Raniere, according to an indictment.Several women, whose identities were withheld in court papers, claim they were blackmailed into complying and told DOS had compromising information about them.Raniere was the sole male in DOS and the leader. He has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking and forced labor charges.Until women recruited others, they were called "slaves." Those who successfully recruited were called "masters."The indictment released last year claimed many so-called slaves were branded on their pelvic areas using a cauterizing pen with a symbol which, unbeknownst to them, incorporated Raniere's initials.Mack was released on a million bond days after her arrest last year.Marzulli and Mack's attorneys did not respond to CNN's questions regarding whether Mack's plea was entered as part of a deal with prosecutors.Mack faces a maximum of 40 years in prison -- 20 years on each count. She is set to be sentenced on September 11, 2019. 2632
