According to Vox, about 98 million Americans voted early — whether in-person or by mail — as fears of the COVID-19 forced many to plan ahead.Vox also reports that nearly a dozen states have already seen 90% of the ballots cast compared to the 2016 election.Due to high numbers of mail-in ballots — and state procedures for counting them — there's a significant chance that analysts will be unable to project a winner for the presidency by Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.In Pennsylvania, officials could not begin processing and counting mail-in ballots until Tuesday morning, while other states like Florida allow some of that work to be done by election day.It's not just the presidency on the line on Tuesday. Democrats also believe they have a shot at taking control of the Senate. POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) -- Crews extinguished a brush fire that sparked in a riverbed near Poway Tuesday afternoon. The brush fire sparked around 1 p.m. near Poway Road and Sabre Springs Parkway. According to Cal Fire, the wind-driven fire burned about one acre in an area with heavy fuel. Two helicopters were ordered to the scene to fight the blaze. At this time, the cause is unknown. Homes were in the path of the blaze, but were never threatened. In all, firefighters from Poway, San Diego, Cal Fire and Santee fought the blaze. 539

POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) - The city of Poway is applying for a 2 million dollar FEMA grant to take down hazardous trees along Espola and Twin Peaks Roads. The trees are considered a fire hazard on a popular fire evacuation route. Wildfire is a major concern in Poway. Twelve years ago, the Witch Creek Fire destroyed 90 homes. Four years earlier, driven by Santa Ana winds, the Cedar Fire roared through Poway destroying 53 homes.Adrian Burfield drives Twin Peaks every day and says a lot of trees need to come down.Adrian Burfield says, “It’s long overdue. Some of the trees are leaning. I just drive by there and see future problems. So yeah I’m glad to see it happen.”The application deadline is April 18th, and they will know something by the end of this year.If they get approved, the trees will start coming down next Spring. 838

President Donald Trump lashed out at California Gov. Jerry Brown on Thursday, insisting that his administration won't pay for the state's National Guard deployment unless the troops help enforce US immigration laws at the border."Governor Jerry Brown announced he will deploy 'up to 400 National Guard Troops' to do nothing," Trump tweeted. "The crime rate in California is high enough, and the Federal Government will not be paying for Governor Brown's charade.
