A day after audio clips of President Donald Trump admitting he "downplayed" the coronavirus pandemic surfaced, Trump defended his statements as "good" and "proper" in a Thursday morning tweet.On Wednesday, The Washington Post, CNN and other media outlets published audio clips from several of Trump's interview with journalist Bob Woodward. During an interview on Feb. 7, Trump described the dangers of the virus that had not yet fully engulfed the U.S., calling it "deadly." However, publicly, Trump maintained that the virus was "under control" and that it would "disappear" in the coming months.On March 19, after he declared a state of emergency and recommended that Americans not gather in groups of 10 to prevent the spread of the virus, Trump told Woodward that he had intentionally "downplayed" the threat of the virus so as not to "create a panic."On Thursday, Trump stood by his decision to downplay the virus, even as the U.S. death toll soars over 190,000 — the most in the world. No one will remove the 9-foot dead gator out of her Loxahatchee backyardThis story has all the ingredients for "Only in Florida."  A homeowner in Loxahatchee said she found a dead gator on her property on Friday, and the smell is overwhelming. Her husband first noticed it while mowing the lawn days ago, and she is still at a loss with what to do next. Stacey Rutherford can barely uncover her mouth long enough to describe the stench of a dead alligator in the canal on her property. "It’s gross. It’s gross I just want it gone," she said. "You can't make it up!"Rutherford called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for help and she said they told her to "climb in there and poke it with a stick!"The recommendation to sink it actually stunned her."Ummmmm I told them that I would not be poking it," she said. FWC said every circumstance is different, but officers don't come to pick up decomposing carcasses. Adding that the alligator nuisance hotline will give suggestions on how to let the gas out of the gator, but ultimately, it's the homeowner's responsibility to do that. The other option...simply wait it out. Rutherford said she asked FWC if she could shoot it instead of going in the water. "If she were to shoot it, that's like poking a hole into the belly, which may help release the gases and let it sink,  but she would have to consult with law enforcement to make sure she is not breaking any laws getting into trouble," said wildlife expert David Hitzig Neighbors said the stench is unbearable. "You forget and then you get that big strong whiff," said Raymond Velloza, who lives across the street from where the gator is.  Rutherford says bottom line she can't take the smell any more. "I’m begging for somebody to help. I mean, I’ve called everybody," she said. "Nature should take it’s course in somebody else’s backyard, not mine."Options are limited in this type of situation. A former prosecutor in the case against Roger Stone, a former advisor and longtime ally to President Donald Trump, testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday that Stone was treated differently because of his relationship to the president.Aaron Zelinsky, who prosecuted Stone's case as a part of special counsel Robert Mueller's team, appeared before the Judiciary Committee Wednesday. Zelinsky told the committee that the "highest levels" of the Justice Department politicized Stone's sentencing by pressuring the acting U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C. to water down Stone's sentence.Lawmakers on the committee are investigating the politicization of the Department of Justice under Attorney General William Barr. Reports indicate that the Judiciary Committee plans to subpoena Barr later this year to force him to testify in connection with the investigation.A DOJ spokeswoman says that Barr decided the sentence proposed was "excessive," and denied that Barr spoke with Trump about the decision.Stone was convicted on charges of lying to Congress, which obstructed the investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election. A man is being charged with assault after fighting with an IHOP manager last week after the manager asked the party to leave a IHOP in Memphis, WREG-TV reported. According to WREG, the IHOP manager asked Malachi O'Kelley's party of five to leave for being loud. A video of the incident shows most of the party leaving when O'Kelley allegedly attacked the manager. One of the members of the party threw a chair at the manager during the scuffle. Other members of the party also threw plates at IHOP employee. The manager responded by throwing a chair at one of the members of the party.WREG reported the manager received multiple stitches to the back of his head, above the eye and near the eyebrow. No other people have been charged in connection to last week's incident. The manager is reportedly back to work, and is looking at increasing security at the restaurant.  Note: Viewers may find video of incident disturbing 984
