SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Over the last year, thousands of San Diegans received incorrect water bills, but as the city recently discovered, thousands of customers received no bills at all.Officials said at a news conference Thursday afternoon that as many as 2,500 customers may have been affected over the last three to six months. In a press release sent to 10News Thursday, the city blamed a backlog of work orders and additional training for staff on a gap between meters and the public utilities department billing system.RELATED: Audit shows City sent thousands of faulty water bills? The city says meters were still collecting usage data, but the information wasn't being generated into a bill.Earlier this year, Mayor Kevin Faulconer asked the department to re-read every meter in the city. After the project was complete, workers found 10,000 meters broken, damaged or in need of replacement. The city is working to notify customers of the amounts they may owe and says that no water service will be affected. The city also promised that payment plans will be made available for customers. The issue comes on the heels of another problem with the department. Over the last year, the audit found that thousands of San Diegans received incorrect bills. RELATED: San Diego man furious with city over ,000 water billThe issue was largely due to human error, the audit found. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Planned Parenthood officials say a recent act of vandalism at their Pacific Beach location will not "stop us from serving our patients."Red paint appeared to be thrown across the location's sign and windows on Mission Bay Drive sometime between late Sunday afternoon and Monday. A photo of crews cleaning the site was captured by a Reddit user and posted online here.In a statement to 10News, Planned Parenthood said the vandalism would not affect operations:"While we are disappointed by the recent vandalism to our health center, no attempt at intimidation will stop us from serving our patients. We've been a part of the fabric of this community for 55 years, and we'll be here for many more to come. Our patients can count on our doors to stay open, no matter what." 812

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- November is nearly here and, as millions are making Thanksgiving travel plans, we’re taking a look at the cheapest ways to get around Southern California. According to AAA, more than 54 million Americans traveled more than 50 miles for Thanksgiving in 2018. The vast majority of travelers traveled by car. Below is a comparison on how much it would cost a family of four to get from San Diego to Santa Barbara and back using various methods of transportation: Taking a TrainAhead of the busy holiday, Amtrak is increasing capacity on its Pacific Surfliner route. If you were to book your trip on October 23, the cheapest tickets for a family of four cost 6 to get there and the same to get back for a total of 2. However, if you’re trying to get there quickly, you’ll save about an hour each way by driving instead of taking the train. Taking a PlaneOf course, there’s always the option of flying. As of October 23, Google Flights lists the cheapest airfare for a family of four as 8 roundtrip. Most people, however, choose to travel by car, according to AAA, and that may be your cheapest option despite recently skyrocketing gas prices. Taking a CarThere are many cost factors to consider, including the make, model and year of your vehicle, how many miles per gallon it gets, fuel cost around Thanksgiving and traffic. So, let’s assume you drive a 2015 Kia Forte. Currently, gas is just over per gallon. Assuming you fill up twice between San Diego and Santa Barbara and twice on the trip back, fuel would cost just over 1. Even as gas prices remain extremely high compared to the national average, getting to your Thanksgiving destination by car is the cheapest option. The above estimates assume a family of four is traveling between Wednesday, November 27 and Saturday, November 30 between San Diego and Santa Barbara. Of course, prices on all methods of transportation listed above are subject to change, especially as the holiday gets closer. 1994
