A federal trademark infringement lawsuit filed in Las Vegas accuses the moviemaker of improperly basing the “Toy Story 4” character on Knievel. Las Vegas-based K and K Promotions accuses Disney-owned Pixar of intentionally modeling the Caboom character, voiced by Keanu Reeves in the movie, after Knievel — although Knievel’s name is never mentioned.Knievel's famous stunts in the 1960s and ‘70s included motorcycle jumps over the Caesars Palace fountain in Las Vegas and a rocket shot into Snake River Canyon in Idaho. LAKE JACKSON, Texas — A Houston-area official says it will take 60 days to ensure a city drinking water system is purged of a deadly, microscopic parasite that led to the death of a 6-year-old boy earlier this month.The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality said earlier this week that it was developing a plan to flush and disinfect the water system.Mundo says Lake Jackson residents are urged to boil their tap water before using it.Texas Gov. Greg Abbott declared a state of disaster in Brazoria County over the weekend due to the presence of the microbe in the drinking water.Lake Jackson City Manager Modesto Mundo said Monday that three of 11 samples of the city's water indicated preliminary positive results for the naegleria fowleri microbe.One sample came from the home of Josiah McIntyre, a 6-year-old boy whom doctors said died earlier this month after being infected with the parasite.According to the Houston Chronicle, Josiah was tested for strep and COVID-19 when he came down with a fever. It wasn't until the disease had significantly progressed that doctors realized that N. fowleri was the culprit."He was an active little boy," Josiah's mother, Maria Castillo, told KTRK-TV in Houston. LAS VEGAS (AP) — A former magazine model, her boyfriend and their former roommate are headed toward trial in the killing of a 71-year-old California psychiatrist whose body was found outside Las Vegas, a defense attorney said Friday.Kelsey Nichole Turner's lawyer, Brian Smith, said his client, Jon Logan Kennison, and Diana Nicole Pena are still due Monday before a Las Vegas judge on murder and conspiracy charges in the slaying of Thomas Kirk Burchard.However, Smith said their preliminary hearing will be called off after a grand jury handed up an indictment moving the case to Nevada state court for trial.Burchard lived in Salinas, California. Police say he had an intimate relationship with Turner and paid rent on a Las Vegas home where Turner, Kennison and Pena lived.Turner, Kennison and Pena are accused of killing Burchard and leaving his bludgeoned corpse in Turner's Mercedes Benz where it was found March 7 on a desert road between Las Vegas and Lake Mead.Turner, 26, modeled for Playboy Italia and Maxim magazines. She was arrested March 21 in Stockton, California.Kennison, 27, was arrested April 17 in Las Vegas.Pena, 30, was a Las Vegas Strip bartender.
