SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A stunning photo of a female surfer riding the waves was taken at sunset in Cardiff, and the photographer who took the image is hoping to find her.Los Angeles-based photographer Robin Kerr is inspired by nature. She has been taking nature and wildlife photos since she was a child.“My dad lent me his camera on our family vacation to Montana in 1989, ever since then I’ve had the bug,” said Kerr.Kerr said she had visited some amazing places to take photos, but her trip to San Diego in 2018 is one of her favorites.“I took a trip down to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park to see all of the wildlife there," said Kerr. “It had rained on and off all day. I was thinking it might be a really great sunset, something dramatic with the clouds.”Kerr made her way to Cardiff just before it got too dark to snap pictures of the beach. At that moment, she took a stunning photo of a female surfer gliding on the water, in front of a golden sunset.“You can tell she’s just experiencing so much joy in the photo, doing what she loves," Kerr told ABC 10News.Kerr said while taking photos of other objects on the beach, she missed meeting the surfer. She posted the picture, and another zoomed-in image of the woman on her social media accounts, hoping to find her. She had no luck. Nearly two years later, she is resuming her search.“I came across that picture again; I thought man it would be so great to actually find her," Kerr said.Kerr said she has not been able to retake a photo like this. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A surf dog and quadriplegic surfer that made history 10 years ago reunited in La Jolla Sunday.Ricochet and Patrick Iverson met 10 years ago when Iverson decided to go surfing. Ricochet and Iverson were side-by-side when Ricochet decided to jump on the surf board.Since that day, Ricochet has surfed with and helped hundreds of kids, people with disabilities, wounded warriors and veterans with PTSD.Now, Ricochet is part of an organization that helps kids and adults with autism, special needs and disabilities. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A training issue led to more than a dozen voters throughout San Diego County receiving the wrong ballot. According to Registrar of Voters Michael Vu, the issue affected fewer than 30 voters at satellite locations throughout the county. Luckily, the Registrar of Voters was able to quickly catch and correct the issue. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A transit security officer stabbed a man who tried to grab his service pistol at the Old Town Transit Center Friday, San Diego Police said. The encounter was reported at 1 p.m. at the station at 4009 Taylor St. Police said the armed officer was attacked by a man who “violently pulled” on the gun in the holster in an attempt to remove it. The officer kept his weapon and defended himself with his duty knife, stabbing the man in the torso, according to police. Despite his injury, the unidentified man ran away. He was later found under a nearby bridge and taken into custody, police said. The security officer had minor injuries to his face from being punched. 689
