ESCONDIDO (CNS) - A Pauma Valley man accused of ambushing three San Diego County sheriff's deputies at his home in a rural area near Casino Pauma, sparking a nearly six-hour standoff in which he suffered a gunshot wound, was charged today with three counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm on a peace officer.Arraignment for 28-year-old Jose Nieto at Palomar Medical Center was postponed until Jan. 11 because he was deemed medically unfit for the proceeding while being treated for the gunshot wound he sustained during last Thursday's standoff.The complaint against Nieto includes allegations of personal use and discharge of a firearm. He faces 33 years and eight months in prison if convicted, said Deputy District Attorney Michael Runyon.The standoff began around 4:15 p.m. on Dec. 20, when deputies Cory Crawford, Jared Muli, and John Avedesian went to a home in the 156-00 block of Adams Drive in response to a a 911 call from a man who said "he needed help and didn't feel safe in his home."As the three deputies approached the front door of the home, they were met with gunfire, said sheriff's Lt. Rich Williams.The deputies returned fire, established a perimeter around the home and called for backup, including a SWAT team. Nearby residents were evacuated from their homes and surrounding streets were shut down. The deputies were not injured.Authorities spend hours trying to establish communication with the gunman, but when that was unsuccessful, the SWAT team entered the home about 10 p.m. and found Nieto inside with a gunshot wound to his lower body, Williams said. 1598

It's unclear if the 2020 ceremony will be held in front of spectators.Trump has largely laid low since Election Day. He's held just three on-camera events since Nov. 3, one of which was a Veteran's Day ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, at which he did not address reporters. According to CNN, outside of playing a few rounds of golf on the weekends, Trump has not left the White House in several weeks.Following Tuesday's ceremony, the turkeys will live out their lives at Iowa State University. (KGTV) - With studies showing San Diegans are spending more time than ever stuck in traffic, we're listening and looking for answers to your travel headaches.A new technology being hailed as a "game changer" by some experts takes aims at those achy, tiresome commutes.  Cadillac's Super Cruise, the only hands-free semi-autonomous driving feature on the highways, is now on local roads. 10News reporter Michael Chen went to North County Cadillac and took a long for a test drive in the CT6 sedan on I-15.Once on the highway, the feature was activated with the push of a button on the steering wheel.  The feature allows the driver to go feet- and hands-free as long as you stay in one lane. "If someone slows down in front of me, it will slow down our speed," said Drew Doran.While other driver-assistance systems use cameras to center a car, Doran says General Motors has extensive laser mapping of US highways that leads to better accuracy."It actually knows what is ahead of the vehicle," said Doran.  On the hour-long drive, we tracked every curve and every time, it stayed in the center of the lane. Facebook said Wednesday that Cambridge Analytica, a data firm with ties to President Donald Trump's campaign, may have had information on about 87 million Facebook users without the users' knowledge.Facebook had previously said the number of people whose information may have been shared with Cambridge Analytica was only around 50 million. It announced the revised number in a blog post on Wednesday.Facebook has said the data was initially collected by a professor for academic purposes in line with its rules.
