(KGTV) - The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit Friday against the Trump Administration for "forcibly separating asylum-seeking parents and young children."“Whether or not the Trump administration wants to call this a ‘policy,’ it certainly is engaged in a widespread practice of tearing children away from their parents" Lee Gelernt, deputy director of the ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights Project, said. "A national class-action lawsuit is appropriate because this is a national practice.”The national class-action lawsuit expands an existing ACLU case regarding an asylum-seeking mother and her 7-year-old daughter who fled the Democratic Republic of Congo and were separated and detained in the U.S. afterward.RELATED: President Trump to visit California next weekThe ACLU said they are concerned over reports that the Trump Administration was considering policies aimed at separating parents from children "as a way to scare others from seeking refuge in the U.S."The suit wants a federal judge to deem family separation unlawful.A migrant rights advocate found more than 400 cases of parent-child separation since January 2017. 1171

“We deeply regret that a Havana Sun customer and her two children had an unpleasant experience with our SPF 50 Spray. All of our products are developed and manufactured in compliance with FDA sunscreen regulations, which include appropriate testing to insure product safety and efficacy. While we are a relatively new company, we have sold several thousand bottles of this product without receiving any complaints. However, even following all of the FDA mandates, it is highly unlikely that any sunscreen product will not cause an unfavorable skin reaction with at least a few individuals. Without having additional information regarding the usage circumstances of the family that experienced this issue, the storage conditions of the product after it left our control or a sample of the exact product they used, it is not possible for us to comment further on this particular instance.” 895

A 14-year-old student at Anchor Bay High School in Fair Haven, Michigan was suspended and then faced expulsion after reporting a possible threat to the app OK2SAY.The teen's 10-day suspension ended on Monday night, with an expulsion hearing in front of the school board. Dozens of supporters showed up with signs. The hearing lasted nearly six hours, with attorneys on both sides questioning school administrators, the school resource officer and the boy's parents. The ninth-grader used the app to anonymously report that he overheard someone saying they were going to shoot up the school. The FBI was able to identify the teen, according to attorney Calvin Luker who now represents the teen's family as they fight to stop the school board from expelling him. While Joseph McDonald, principal of Anchor Bay High School, said he cannot comment on a student's discipline, he said, in general, action can be taken against a student who knowingly reports false information. The teen has not been charged with any crime, and Saint Clair County Sheriff investigators say there was not enough evidence to obtain charges against the person who reportedly made the threat.Luker said the teen thought he was doing the right thing by reporting what he overheard, but instead of being praised for his bravery, the teen was suspended for ten days. The school board unanimously decided to dismiss the expulsion, but recommended law enforcement review the original threat. 1543
