SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diegans posted images and updates about the fierce Valley Fire burning out of control in the Japatul Valley on Saturday night.Photos and videos shot from various locations around San Diego show a large ominous plume of smoke over the county. Others show videos of flames near the scene of the fire, and at least one local resident miles away from the fire documented ash falling from the sky.As of late Saturday night, fire officials said the blaze has scorched about 1,500 acres. Crews continue to battle the fire under harsh conditions, including strong winds and high heat. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police are searching for an 18-year-old at-risk woman who disappeared from her Barrio Logan home on Sunday.Police say Kaedyn Carmon was last seen leaving her home at about 5:50 p.m. She left on foot in an unknown direction after an argument.Carmon is diagnosed with Autism with the mental capacity of a 9- to 11-year-old, police added.She's described as a black/white female with black hair and brown eyes, and about 5-feet, 3-inches tall and 260 pounds. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County has seen possible early signs of a COVID-19 resurgence, after four community outbreaks were reported Friday.Dr. Wilma Wooten, the county's public health officer, said the county has recorded four community coronavirus outbreaks in the last seven days.One of the newly reported outbreaks included an unnamed restaurant. That outbreak remains under investigation, Wooten added."We had only about three community outbreaks in the month of May," Wooten said.Of the county's 56 active outbreaks, 13 are in the community setting, which have included office buildings, churches, parties, and "unauthorized weddings" in the past.One of San Diego County's 13 triggers which could cause the county to reverse loosened restrictions includes seven community outbreaks in a week. Wooten said Friday that the county is currently "green" on all triggers.County officials encouraged San Diegans to continue wearing facial coverings when around other non-household members, wash their hands regularly, and stay home if they are feeling sick. 1068

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County Fire is offering some residents key safe boxes that allow first responders to gain access to homes in emergency situations, County News Center reports.The boxes, called KnoxBoxes, are installed on or near the front door and can only be opened by local firefighters responding to life-threatening emergencies, the county says.County Supervisor Dianne Jacob says the program fulfills an urgent need.“For older folks with chronic health conditions or in need of help with basic activities, KnoxBoxes can be a lifesaver,” said Jacob. “These devices can also provide some peace of mind in a region where wildfire is a year-round threat.”County Fire received a federal grant to help purchase 200 boxes. The county plans to loan the boxes to residents in rural communities.So far, the county says it has received 70 applications. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are investigating following a deadly hit-and-run in Clairemont Wednesday night. According to police, the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. on the 5500 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard. Police say a 44-year-old man was found dead on the eastbound lanes of traffic. They say he was struck by a car, which fled the scene. Then the man was hit by two other vehicles as he was lying on the road. Both also fled the scene.Clairemont Mesa Boulevard near Dubois Street was closed for several hours during the investigation. 563
