RAINBOW, Calif. (KGTV) — The wildfires in Australia destroyed many parts of the Outback. But they have also touched off a massive wave of support around the world. Everyone is searching for ways to help not just the families and firefighters, but the animals deprived of their homes. A woman from the tiny town of Rainbow is hoping her handiwork will help the Australian wildlife in a big way.Symphony Ariosta, 31, is a true animal lover. "I love animals. If I could, I would run a rescue myself," Ariosta said. "I figure if I can't, then why not use my talents and trades to help the ones that need it?"RELATED: San Diego Zoo Global supports koala recovery amid devastating Australia wildfiresThe ones in need right now are in Australia. Scientists at the University of Sydney estimate at least one billion animals have been killed in the months-long wildfires. Seeing the images of the animals and the flames on the news reminded Ariosta of the tragedy her family experienced in the 2007 Rice Canyon Fire in Fallbrook. "It's heartbreaking," Ariosta said. "I feel, no matter where in the world you are, if you can help, why not?"She wondered what she could do without breaking the bank. She searched online and found "Rescue Craft Co," a group dedicated to handicrafts."There's wildlife pouches, there are bat wraps, there are little marsupial bags, hanging pouches," Ariosta explained. RELATED: Here's how you can help the victims of the Australian wildfiresThe website offered patterns to make fuzzy little homes for injured and orphaned animals in Australia. Crocheting birds nests is Ariosta's go-to."They're quick, and they're easy to pump out," Ariosta said, with her crochet hook in hand. "So it's kind of my favorite thing to do."In the last three days, she recruited several people from Rainbow and neighboring Fallbrook to join her cause. "Bringing everyone together in that way over a common kind of unifier has really just made a huge difference, and it's brought our community together as well," Ariosta said. "It might seem a little cheesy, but baby steps are still steps forward, and so that's where we're going from there."Ariosta says a local shipping company called "Going postal" has offered to send the handicrafts every week to Australia, free of charge. She also says she printed out simple patterns and left them at the Fallbrook Library if anyone else wants to join the cause. 2555

President Donald Trump will welcome the United States' Winter Olympics teams to the White House Friday, but the list of potential absentees reads like a who's who list of America's most well-known athletes.Lindsey Vonn, Gus Kenworthy and Adam Rippon are among the stars set to be absent, some citing political differences with the president.Freestyle skier Kenworthy, a vocal Trump critic, tweeted "the resistance is real" in reference to the expected White House no-shows."All US Olympians and Paralympians are invited to visit the White House and meet the President after the Games," tweeted the American, whose kiss with boyfriend Matthew Wilkas in Pyeongchang, South Korea became worldwide news after it was broadcast live on national television."Today is this year's visit and USOC [US Olympic Committee] spokesperson says he's never seen so many athletes turn down their invites. The resistance is real."The US Olympic Committee has yet to respond to CNN's request for a comment on the numbers of predicted absentees. 1031

Prince Harry stole the show in London's West End after bursting into song at the hit US hip-hop musical "Hamilton."The Duke of Sussex gave those in the theater something to remember Wednesday night after breaking into song at the end of a charity performance of the show, treating the cast to a song sung by the George III character -- Harry's sixth-great-grandfather.On stage with the cast, Harry broke into mock-song, starting off with "You say ..." before cutting himself amid cheers and laughter from the cast and audience. The show was held to raise money for the Duke's HIV charity, Sentebale. 606

President Donald Trump tweeted late Tuesday morning that he will "go after" Stormy Daniels and her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, calling the porn star "Horseface."“Federal Judge throws out Stormy Danials (sic) lawsuit versus Trump. Trump is entitled to full legal fees.” @FoxNews Great, now I can go after Horseface and her 3rd rate lawyer in the Great State of Texas. She will confirm the letter she signed! She knows nothing about me, a total con!" Trump tweeted.Avenatti quickly responded on Twitter.".@realDonaldTrump - tens of millions of Americans are tired of your fraud, lies, and corruption. They are equally tired of your attacks on women, especially the ones who you have had sex with while cheating on your wives. We (and the UN) are laughing AT YOU, not with you. #Basta," the lawyer tweeted.Daniels also responded on Twitter a short time later."Ladies and Gentlemen,  may I present your president. In addition to his...umm...shortcomings, he has demonstrated his incompetence, hatred of women and lack of self control on Twitter AGAIN! And perhaps a penchant for bestiality. Game on, Tiny," she tweeted.Trump's tweet comes a day after a judge in New York threw out the lawsuit and ordered Daniels to repay Trump's legal fees.Daniels claims that she and the President had sex in 2006, shortly after Trump married his current wife Melania. She claims she was later threatened to keep quiet about the affair. She also later signed a non-disclosure agreement, saying she would keep quiet in exchange for payment.Daniels claimed that Trump defamed her when he said she lied about being threatened to keep quiet about the affair. US District Judge James Otero ruled Monday that Trump's speech was protected by the First Amendment.Pool reports indicate that Trump had no public events scheduled for this morning.More on this as it develops.  1872
