SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Symphony has already revealed the sounds that will fill the air outside the San Diego Convention Center this summer.During Comic-Con 2019, the symphony will perform music from the cult-galactic adventure "Galaxy Quest," on July 19, and "Back to the Future," on July 20, at Copley Symphony Hall. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego State University Saturday ordered all on-campus residents to stay at home over Labor Day Weekend amid an increase of coronavirus cases tied to the university.The university sent an email to students who live on campus, advising them to stay “in their current residences except for essential needs.”The “Stay at Home” order is in effect from 10 p.m. Saturday, September 5, through Tuesday, September 8 at 6 a.m.RELATED: San Diego State University reports 120 more COVID-19 cases since fall start“At that time, this order will be revisited and updated as necessary,” the university said of the order’s expected expiration.“Violations of this order may result in disciplinary consequences,” the school continued, although no specificities were given as to the consequences for violating the order.The announcement comes as the university has, so far, experienced 184 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases since the start of the fall semester. 978

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego's love for giant pandas has been a 30-year commitment.Since 1987, when the zoo hosted two pandas (Basi and Yuan Yuan) for 200 days, San Diego has been enthralled with the giant black-and-white bears.What would eventually follow would be a 12-year partnership with China's Wolong Panda Preserve to support research and conservation of the animal — and a local appetite as big as a panda's to see the animal up close.RELATED: San Diego Zoo to send pandas Bai Yun and Xiao Liwu to ChinaThe zoo's first two pandas, Bai Yun and Shi Shi, arrived in 1996. She would be given to Wolong Giant Panda Conservation Center in China, per the conservation agreement, in February 2004. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Several business owners on University Avenue in Hillcrest say they were vandalized sometime late Tuesday night. The owners think the suspects shot at their windows with a type of pellet gun. At least three businesses had windows either shattered or broken. Benjamin Nicholls, with the Hillcrest Business Association says he feels these businesses were targeted because of the time of year. San Diego Pride is 9 days away. Samir Hannosh owns The Glass Door Cafe, which just opened a week ago. His window replacement could cost him anywhere from ,000-,000. He says he hopes the businesses weren't targeted for being in the LGBTQ neighborhood, adding that all business will be ready and proud for the upcoming Pride celebration.The San Diego Police Department says they are investigating and working to find the person or persons responsible.
