SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Ex-NFL tight end Kellen Winslow II, convicted of rape and other felonies stemming from sexual offenses against five women, will not be sentenced to prison for at least a few months, but attorneys disagreed in court Thursday as to when the case should move forward given logistical issues concerning the COVID-19 pandemic.Winslow, 37, was convicted in June 2019 of forcible rape, misdemeanor indecent exposure and lewd conduct counts involving three women.The same jury deadlocked on other charges related to two other women, setting the stage for a second trial slated to begin last November, but Winslow pleaded guilty to rape and sexual battery counts connected to those victims on the day trial was set to begin.The son of former San Diego Chargers legend Kellen Winslow initially faced life in prison on the original charges, but currently faces between 12 and 18 years in state prison when he is ultimately sentenced.His case, like many others, has faced delays due to the pandemic, and his Thursday hearing was held over video-conference, which has become typical since the pandemic began.Defense attorney Gretchen Von Helms argued Thursday that Winslow was entitled to be physically present when sentencing arguments are made. She said that those hearings should not be set until early next year, when conditions may be more favorable for Winslow to appear in court.Deputy District Attorney Dan Owens argued for a possible November sentencing date, saying it was "speculative" to claim live hearings might not be available until next year. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities reached out to the public Wednesday for help identifying a man who entered the women's locker room at a Hillcrest hospital and prevented a woman from leaving the restroom after she rejected his advances.The suspect entered the women's locker room at the UC San Diego Clinical Training Facility at 210 Dickenson St. shortly before 11:15 a.m. on Aug. 20, according to San Diego police.A 30-year-old woman was using the restroom inside the locker room when the man walked inside, prevented her from leaving, then asked her, "Don't you want this?" while gesturing to his body, police said. The man then left the restroom, but held onto the outside doorknob to keep the victim from locking the door.He then walked back inside the restroom and blocked her from leaving four more times before she was able to lock herself inside the locker room and wait until he left.Once the victim heard a co-worker in the hallway, she left the locker room and went outside the building to get help, but she saw the man near another building and she ran away before calling 911.The suspect was described as a 6-foot white man with a thin build, unshaven face and short, dark-colored hair with a gray patch near his right temple. The switch malfunction on a utility pole on Hawken Drive in Otay Mesa occurred shortly before 1 p.m., according to San Diego Gas & Electric and the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. The equipment failure sent melted materials dripping onto the ground, setting grass and other vegetation on fire, SDFRD spokeswoman Monica Munoz said. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to subdue the flames, which blackened about a half-acre of brushy terrain, Munoz said. No structural damage or injuries were reported. Utility crews expected to have power restored to the affected areas, which included pars of Nestor, Otay Mesa and San Ysidro, by early evening, SDG&E spokeswoman Jessica Packard said. 929
