A California high school student has been charged with two counts of battery stemming from a fight involving a Donald Trump "Make America Great Again" cap, according to KOVR-TVCell phone video of the fight shows a Union Mine High School student confronting and yelling at a fellow student wearing a red MAGA hat in support of President Trump. After yelling at her classmate, she reportedly grabbed the hat off his head and threw it on the ground and left the classroom, according to the El Dorado Sheriff's Office.The student later returned to the classroom and again removed the student's hat. The teacher escorted the girl out of the classroom, and she reportedly slapped him on the arm as he led her out. A school resource officer arrested the girl in the hallway. She was taken to a local juvenile detention center and suspended from school, according to KTXL-TV. The girl was charged with two counts of battery, once against the student with the MAGA hat, the other against the teacher."“…student and staff safety is our highest priority and the UMHS administration will continue to cooperate with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office as the incident is being investigated,” the school said in a statement, according to KTXL.Alex Hider is a writer for the E.W. A man and his girlfriend sued the state of Hawaii, saying the false missile alert debacle earlier this year caused him to have a heart attack.James Sean Shields and girlfriend Brenda Reichel filed the suit Tuesday. In addition to the state, Vern Miyagi, former head of Hawaii Emergency Management Agency, is also named as a defendant.In the suit, Shields and Reichel say they were driving to the beach on January 13 when they received alerts on their cell phones that a missile was headed toward Hawaii and that they needed to find shelter."Both plaintiffs believed this message to be true and were extremely frightened and thought they were shortly going to die," the lawsuit reads. "They decided that there was not much they could do to protect themselves from this threat and decided that if they were going to die, they might as well die together on the beach."Reichel then got a call from her son, who serves in the Hawaii Army National Guard. He told her the threat was real, heightening their fears even more.Minutes later, they arrived at the beach and began calling loved ones, saying their goodbyes. Right after Shields called his son and daughter who live on the US mainland, he said he started to feel "a severe and painful burning" in his chest.He went to a hospital where he went into cardiac arrest. A doctor performed CPR, and Shields then underwent emergency surgery.The damage to Shields' heart since the heart attack has been confirmed by several tests, the suit says. 1495

A highly contested election is highlighting the divisions between the so-called Red State America and Blue State America. At the same time, in four of the five states in which the final vote tallies have not been determined, the difference in votes between Donald Trump and Joe Biden is small: less than two percent, in each state.Americans are speaking differently but in equal numbers.Going forward, will the nation stay equally divided? Jody Wedding, designer/co-founder of the MASKkap, says the idea came from another co-founder's first-hand experience."He went to Costco a couple of months ago, with his son and they wouldn't let him in because he didn't have a mask on," Wedding said. "He forgot his mask. So he got frustrated, went home and was like 'This is never going to happen again.'"That's when this hat, with the mask attached to it, was invented."The cap is a traditional baseball cap. It has a mask attached to it," Wedding explained.
