RAMONA, Calif. (KGTV) – It was a nightly ritual. Steve Faught would put his dog, Riley, in his old Ford pickup and take him to a nearby baseball field to play fetch.  On his way Thursday night, he stopped by Stage Stop Liquor and Gas to pick up a six-pack of beer. But he never made it to the field. Faught was found at the gas station with a major injury to his neck, according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department. He was airlifted to a hospital for surgery but did not survive. His older brother, Jerry Faught, described him as funny, with a warm personality. “To him, life was a good place,” he said. “He was just the kind of person you’d like to know.” Faught heard the news from Steve’s wife, who called him at his home in Portland. His older brother instincts kicked in. “I couldn’t help him. I couldn’t save him. That’s hard,” he said. Homicide detectives are trying to piece together what happened and what led up to the altercation, but as of Friday morning they had not been able to locate any witnesses or surveillance video. The suspect, 26-year old Jarrett Wishnick, has been arrested for murder. 1169

Prosecutors rested their case Monday afternoon in the trial against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.This comes after 10 days of testimony from 27 witnesses. The defense has not indicated if it will call any witnesses to the stand.Prior to the prosecution resting, a bank official testified that the Federal Savings Bank gave Manafort million in loans and knew that he lied about his financial situation before they were approved by the bank's chairman.James Brennan, a vice president of Federal Savings Bank, said he faced so much pressure from his bank's chairman about Manafort's ability to borrow the million that he lied on a form reviewed by federal regulators and the bank's directors about the stability of the loan."If I had my recommendation ... the loan would not be made," Brennan said in court Monday.Brennan, who wrote a memorandum about a second .5 million loan the bank extended to Manafort, said he had given the loan a rating of "4." But in court Monday, he said he shouldn't have done that.A very stable, high-quality loan would get a rating of "1," and any rating less than "4" wouldn't get approved and would draw regulators' attention because of its instability, he said.When asked by prosecutors why the loan received a 4 rating, Brennan said it was because of "Mr. Calk," referring to the bank's founder, Stephen Calk."It closed because Mr. Calk wanted it to close," Brennan said, referring to one of the loans.Last week, the jury heard testimony that Calk approved the loans as he sought Manafort's help in getting a high-ranking position in the Trump administration.Brennan also said he and his colleagues documented their concerns about Manafort's personal finances. Information about Manafort's company's income, his unpaid debts from his Yankees season ticket and undisclosed mortgages on his other properties in New York raised red flags internally at the bank, he added.Brennan was the 27th prosecution witness to testify against Manafort in the first major test in court for special counsel Robert Mueller, who is currently leading an investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.Manafort has been charged with 18 tax and banking crimes. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.Prosecutors pulled up an email that Brennan sent to colleagues who sat on the bank's loan-approving committee in September 2016. PROVO, Utah - Things were far from the "friendly skies" on a flight to Provo over the weekend when a fight broke out after a passenger refused to wear a mask.Rylie Lansford shared a video of the altercation that occurred just moments after she boarded the Allegiant flight from Mesa, Arizona, to Provo, Utah, on SaturdayLansford says the fight started after a flight attendant asked a man who had already boarded to wear a face mask that covered his mouth and nose. However, Lansford said the second man continued on a tirade and threatened the original man.At that point, with the flight ready to depart, security was called in to remove the man who refused to wear a mask.As the man got up to be escorted out, Lansford believes he took a punch at the second passenger. A brief physical scuffle occurred and Lansford ran to the front of the plane.Lansford says the flight crew handled the entire situation really well.While the original man was escorted off, the second passenger was not removed from the plane despite his participation in the fight.When contacted by FOX 13, Allegiant reiterated its position on wearing face masks on flights."Face coverings must be made of solid material, fully cover the mouth and nose, fit snugly against the face, and be secured under the chin. Prohibited coverings include those with exhalation valves, holes (such as lace or mesh), neck gaiters, and bandanas. Face shields may be worn in addition to a face covering, but not as an alternative."The flight eventually departed and arrived in Provo without any further incident.According to Mesa Police, 52-year-old Rio James Honaker was charged with disorderly conduct.
