SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A parolee suspected of sexually trafficking a 15- year-old runaway was arrested Wednesday in Sorrento Valley.Joseph Price, 23, was taken into custody in the 9800 block of Pacific Heights Boulevard in San Diego about 9:45 a.m., according to sheriff's officials.Earlier in the morning, detectives contacted the alleged victim and returned her to her home, Sgt. Chase Chiappino said.Price was booked into county jail solely on suspicion of violating conditions of his parole, but sex-trafficking charges are expected to be filed against him, the sergeant said.Details about Price's purported victimization of the girl -- allegations that arose from an investigation by juvenile-services officers and the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force -- were not immediately available. 800

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A woman who caught herself on fire in her kitchen and her husband were burned when he rushed in to help his wife inside their home in the Bay Terraces neighborhood Sunday, fire officials said.The stove fire inside a home on the 7500 block of Careybrook Lane ignited about 3 p.m. Sunday, fire officials said.The husband used whatever he could find in order to help his wife, San Diego Fire Department Battalion Chief Brian Raines said."Eventually, there was water used from a bathroom," San Diego police Lt. Mike Ramsay told the station. "But due to whatever was used (by the husband) part of the flash, part of the fire, his clothing caught on fire."The husband and wife were taken to the UCSD hospital burn center. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A security guard at a bar in Little Italy was sentenced Friday to six years in state prison for shooting a patron during an argument outside the establishment.Dangelo Jeffrey, 24, pleaded guilty earlier this year to charges of assault, discharging a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon for the April 20 attack that began at the El Camino Bar, 2400 India St., according to Deputy District Attorney Mary Naoom.Around 2 that morning, Jeffrey got into an argument with the male victim and others, and made threats. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Nearly half of San Diego County's 1.95 million voters have cast their ballots in the Nov. 3 election, the Registrar of Voters reported Thursday.More than 937,000 ballots had been received as of Thursday, according to the registrar's office.Mail-in ballots were sent to all registered voters in the county on Oct. 5, even those who had not requested one.Ballots received by the registrar's office this week should be processed in time for the first release of election night results to be posted shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday.Voters can return their marked ballot in the pre-paid postage envelope to any U.S. Postal Service office or collection box. The Registrar of Voters office in Kearny Mesa is open for early voting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays for those preferring to vote in person.Voters additionally have the option to drop off their ballot at one of 126 drop-off locations around the county -- including dozens of libraries, YMCAs, county offices and The Old Globe Theater in Balboa Park.Voters also can also cast their ballots at their assigned polling place, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., from Saturday through next Monday.
