Tell us what you want, what you really, really want, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.Spice Girls member Mel B appeared on the daytime talk show "The Real" Tuesday and sparked speculation that the group would be performing at the upcoming royal wedding in May.The hubbub began when co-host Loni Love asked Mel B if she knew anyone who would be attending."I'm going," Mel B said quietly. The audience cheered as the co-hosts of the show exclaimed at the news.Things got really hectic when Love asked if the Spice Girls would be performing."I swear I'm just like..." Mel B started, before Love jumped in and said, "Yes, they are performing! Yes!""I need to go," Mel B said after throwing into the air the papers she was holding. "You're going to get me fired! I'm going to be fired!"She then tried to backtrack."Let's not talk about it anymore," Scary Spice said. "Let's pretend that I never said that."Fans were already buzzing about the possibility of a Spice Girls reunion after a group photo was published of the members having lunch together at Geri Halliwell Horner's house recently.Mel B told the women of "The Real" it was the first time in years that all five members had been together. She said their former manager, Simon Fuller, also joined them. The picture wasn't even supposed to go public, Mel B said."First of all, none of us were meant to post that picture," she said. "We all just took pictures, you know like, candidly. So when I saw Victoria post the picture, I was like, 'Noooo!' I didn't get the lighting right, my makeup wasn't on."  1563

Texas kicked off early voting Tuesday. People stood in long lines, voting in ways they've never done before. Some lined up before daylight on sidewalks outside major sports arenas to allow for more physical distancing.Early voting started Monday in Georgia and nearly 127,000 people cast their ballot, a first day record for the state.“There were hours-long wait times in some locations and glitches that added to the challenges,” said Mike Lydon, a principal at Street Plans. “Voting rights and having access to a safe and convenient polling location is going to really drive participation.”Street Plans is an urban planning and consulting firm that deals with transportation. They got a grant over the summer to put together a physical design plan for cities to best cope with social distancing, capacity restrictions and high voter turnout.“How you can make use of streets and public spaces to alleviate some of those issues and of course add some comfort elements like tents, seats, sanitation stations periodically throughout the queue,” said Lydon. The plans cover all types of polling locations, and how to properly do drive-up, curbside, outdoor and indoor voting. There are many potential problems for election officials when situations can change quickly.“COVID being this unknown variable, you could have a spike in the next three weeks at a certain location and that might totally change what was planned for in person indoor voting to go outdoors,” said Lydon.Street Plans is also offering free consulting assistance to cities. The plans are also free to download on their website StreetPlans.com. 1616

TANGIER, Va. – At just over one square mile, tiny Tangier, home to less than 500 people, sits surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. No roads can get you there. The easiest way to travel to the island is via one of the daily ferries, popular with adventurous day trippers, who want a peek at how people have lived here for centuries.“It's all about the seafood,” said Mayor James Eskridge, better known by his nickname, Ooker. “It's a close-knit community.”That closeness, though, became a potential threat earlier this year, when the coronavirus began spreading throughout the country.“We were like most of the country: we were didn't know what it was going to amount to, how dangerous it was, how you would hear one thing about it and you would hear something else and so people were worried,” Eskridge said. They were especially worried because more than 40% of the people who live on Tangier are elderly, a population vulnerable to the virus. What’s more, there’s only a small clinic on the island and no full-time doctor. So, they made a few tough choices. The ferry services temporarily shut down, effectively isolating the island, and so did another thing at the heart of life there. On the island, church is everything. Right after the coronavirus outbreak began in March, they stopped services for months and that may have been what helped keep the virus at bay.So far, there have been zero coronavirus cases on the island.“It's like one big family here. Your problem is my problem,” said Nancy Creedle, a parishioner at the island’s Swain Memorial Methodist Church, who also works in the church office. She said people took the virus seriously and though church services started up again, there have been some changes.“We marked the pews and people had to wear masks,” Creedle said.Being socially distant doesn’t come naturally there, but they’re trying.“Tangier, just like the country, you need to be cautious, but you can't completely shut down because I think that would do more harm than the virus itself,” Eskridge said. The island is back open for business. Ferry services started up again in mid-June, with an average less than 50 people visiting a day. With summer winding down, some tourist spots are now closed and others didn’t open at all this summer season.“All in all, it’s been a strange summer,” Eskridge said. “We're having tourists come in, but it's down a lot.”Since most visitors only come for the day and don’t spend the night there, island residents think that may be part of the patchwork of decisions and circumstances keeping them COVID-free.Yet, some folks also think something else might be at work, too.“The people, well, they were very precautious, too,” Creedle said, “but I think the Lord has kept us safe.”Credit given to a higher power, they said, in the face of uncertainty. 2826

The agent for Ezekiel Elliott says the star running back of the Dallas Cowboys has tested positive for the coronavirus. Rocky Arceneaux tells the NFL Network Elliott is feeling OK and recovering. Elliott tweeted out the word "HIPPA???" which stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, in regards to why his medical information was leaked. 367

Surveillance video was released Wednesday from security cameras outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on the day a gunman killed 17 people. The video's expected July 27 release was delayed when the Broward County School Board requested a review by the state's highest court. On Wednesday, the state Supreme Court said no further appeals would be considered. The video only shows footage from exterior cameras on campus, not from inside the school building where former student Nikolas Cruz opened fire on students and faculty February 14.The heavily-edited and blurred footage depicts the chaotic moments after the shooting, with students and staff being directed away from the scene and law enforcement officers at one point opening a gate and entering a school building with their guns drawn. 807
