Glen “Big Baby” Davis, former NBA player best known for his role on the 2008 championship Boston Celtics, was arrested at a Hampton Inn in Aberdeen, Maryland last month.According to court records, the hotel owner smelled marijuana coming from Davis' room on February 7th.When the owner knocked on room 208, someone inside the room told him to “F--- off!”Aberdeen police then responded to the hotel and Davis gave signed consent to search his room"They recovered 126 grams of marijuana,” said Aberdeen Police Lieutenant William Reiber, “In addition to that there was a brief case that contained ,164 of U.S. currency along with a ledger that contained language which is consistent with someone involved in the sale and distribution of narcotics."The ledger was of names of people of who owed money along with baggies for individual packaging of a quarter pound of marijuana.The strains were called "Sour D" and "Berry," all from a Los Angeles wholesaler court records show Davis told police he was in business with.It all resulted Davis’ arrest followed by an indictment weeks later on seven counts of drug possession and distribution.Aberdeen Police say it was during the booking process when it became apparent who Davis is in the sports world.He told officers he was in Harford County, Maryland visiting family."There was a statement that was made about the purpose of the trip but at the end of the day we don't know exactly,” Lt. Reiber said, “There was an investigation, it is still ongoing. GOODYEAR, Ariz. — Bryshere Gray, an actor on the TV show "Empire," was arrested Sunday night in connection with a domestic violence incident at a Goodyear home.According to Goodyear police, officers responded to reports that a woman had been assaulted and arrived at a Circle K at Estrella Parkway and McDowell Road around 10:15 p.m.Police said the victim flagged down a citizen shortly before at another gas station and said she had been assaulted at her home "for several hours" by her husband, who she identified as Bryshere Gray.The victim was treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries, and Goodyear detectives and victims' advocates continued to assist after she was discharged from the hospital.When officers tried to contact Gray at his home near Estrella Parkway and Westar Drive, he refused to come out and speak with the police.Goodyear SWAT and Crisis Negotiations were called to the scene to assist.According to police, Gray surrendered without incident just after 7 a.m. Monday. He was taken into custody and will be booked on domestic violence charges.Gray portrays Hakeem Lyon on "Empire." Companies like Coke, Hershey’s and General Mills have all said they have to pay more to get their items shipped to stores, which means wallets take a hit."I think ecommerce has a lot to do with it — just with the demand of everybody having to order stuff to have it delivered to their houses instead of actually going out and shopping for it,” Jones said.Being a truck driver can be a lucrative job right out of the gate, and it only takes four weeks of training. That’s one of the reason Sage student Miguel decided to sign up.“The money is really good, especially in this field — and I mean it’s just a lot to offer, benefits and money,” Miguel said.With a shortage of drivers, some companies are offering big signing bonuses for those considering driving. Solo drivers could receive a ,000 signing bonus, and team drivers could receive up to ,000.Jones believes more people would become drivers if they could afford the training.“With increased funding from the government helping with these new students through and getting them into the industry I think that’s a possible way,” he said.Even though Miguel is sacrificing a lot starting this career, he knows it’s beneficial to everyone.“It’s a full cycle. Heavy rain caused a central Texas river to rise to a near-record level in about a day, leading to a bridge collapse, flooded homes and evacuations.The Llano River rose to nearly 40 feet Tuesday in the city of Llano -- about 35 feet higher than it was just 24 hours earlier before -- thanks to 8 to 10 inches of rain that fell in the area over the past two days, the National Weather Service said.A few miles away, in Kingsland, the swollen river rushed against the top of the RM 2900 bridge for hours, eventually causing it to collapse, video from CNN affiliate KEYE showed. No one appeared to be on the bridge, and no injuries were immediately reported.Video from Darlene Walthall also showed the river washing over the span before the collapse.The Llano County Office of Emergency Management ordered people living within a quarter mile of the river to evacuate Tuesday morning.The Llano River meets the Colorado River in Kingsland. Houses near the Colorado were flooded, resident Terri Kleen said.
