(KGTV) - The San Diego Police Department is launching its "bait bike" program in Point Loma and Ocean Beach after its success in Pacific Beach.The program outfits bikes with GPS devices that notify officers when a bike is being stolen. Officers are able to track the suspect's location in real time before arresting them.San Diego PD has received enough funding for at least 2 bait bikes for Point Loma and Ocean Beach, according to Councilmember Lorie Zapf’s Office.MAP: Track crimes in your neighborhoodFigures from Pacific Beach indicate officers have arrested 128 bike thieves since the program began, with the program having a 100 percent conviction rate.Bait bikes were first rolled out in SDPD in 2014.It’s estimated more than 3,000 bikes are stolen every year across San Diego County. (KGTV) — Starting Monday, Southern California residents can take advantage of a limited time discount on tickets to the Happiest Place on Earth.Disneyland's Southern California Resident Ticket offers locals a three-day, one-park ticket for 9 and a three-day, Park Hopper ticket for 4. For comparison, tickets for ages 10 and up can cost as much as 5 for a one-day, one-park ticket and 5 for a one-day, Park Hopper ticket on peak days. (KGTV) - The body of a San Diego Navy veteran reported missing was found in a Dallas suburb this week, and Texas investigators he had been dead for three years. Ronald Wayne White, 51, was a defense contractor who served on the USS Nimitz in the 1980s. He vanished in 2016. “My son would call me at least twice a month,” said White’s mother Doris Stevens told WFAA. “He would call me from Egypt. He would call me from the Philippines. An employee of the apartment complex went to the unit to discover why the tenant wasn’t using any water and found White’s body on the kitchen floor. White had a month-to-month lease with the money automatically withdrawn from his account and his apartment was well-insulated, according to police.
