Reddit user Kyle Clark spotted it in Ocean Beach on a Lime Bike. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Sunday, San Diego County health officials reported 568 new coronavirus cases and three new community outbreaks, including one at a preschool.The county's new cases were out of 8,943 reported tests, a 6% positive rate, and brought the region's total to 23,682 cases.The three new community outbreaks were reported in a restaurant/bar, in a manufacturing facility, and in a preschool, the county said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The Downtown San Diego Partnership is relaunching a program to help businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.A new round of the organization's Downtown Loyalty program launches at noon on Tuesday. It allows people to buy discounted gift cards to some of downtown's most recognizable restaurants, coffee shops, retail, and services."It's a digital gift card sale," said Sarah Brothers, marketing and communications director for the Downtown San Diego Partnership. "So you're able to buy a gift card to your favorite downtown locations. And for every purchase, you get a free funded by philanthropy."It allows the customer to get more than what they paid for, and it's extra revenue for the business at the receiving end.The program is made possible through fundraising and donations.The first round of the Downtown Loyalty program's gift card sale sold out in four days when it launched in July. It provided nearly ,000 in direct revenue to struggling businesses in downtown San Diego. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The family of a YouTube star who drove his McLaren the wrong way on the 805 last year, killing a mom and her daughter, are suing the City of San Diego, County of San Diego, and the Psychiatric Emergency Response Team (PERT).The lawsuit claims the “horrific and tragic event” was entirely preventable.Eighteen-year-old Trevor Heitmann, known as McSkillet, drove his McLaren the wrong way on the freeway in August 2018, killing Aileen Pizarro and her 12-year-old daughter Aryana. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Surveillance pictures were released Tuesday of a woman who San Diego Police believe struck a parked car and critically injured her passenger in Lincoln Park.The crash happened just before 5 a.m. on the 500 block of South 47th St.A woman driving a gray 2010 Mazda 3 moved to the right side of the road and struck an unoccupied, parked SUV, police said.The crash caused a 79-year-old man who was in the back seat of the Mazda to be thrown forward, striking the front passenger’s seat. The man was not wearing a seatbelt. Police said he is not expected to survive significant head and neck injuries.A 39-year-old man who was sitting in the back seat of the Mazda suffered minor injuries.Police said the female driver walked away from the scene before officers arrived. She is described as African-American and in her 50s.
