Kevin Daly is a fit 62-year-old man who has lived an athletic, healthy lifestyle. That was why it was strange when his stomach continued to grow, despite losing weight. According to WCBS-TV, Daly had to convince his insurance company that his growing stomach was not being caused by drinking suds. Daly convinced his insurance company to allow a CAT scan. The CAT scan had a shocking result. Daly had a 30-pound tumor in his abdominal cavity."I never drank beer,” he told WCBS. “Don’t like it, always been athletic, never had a belly.”Daly had the tumor surgically removed, but the procedure was lengthy, lasting six hours. According to WCBS, the tumor was a low-grade, fatty cancer that had wrapped around an organ. Daly's doctor said that a kidney also had to be removed to ensure the tumor was completely removed. Because the tumor was slow growing, he will not need any sort of radiation or chemotherapy treatment. Daly will continue to be monitored with MRIs as a precautiion.  1035

KENOSHA, Wis. — The father of Jacob Blake says his son was left paralyzed from the waist down after he was shot by a Kenosha police officer Sunday.Blake’s father told the Chicago Sun-Times that he was told his son was shot eight times during the Sunday evening confrontation with police, which was captured on cellphone video and led to two nights of unrest in the city that's along Lake Michigan between Milwaukee and Chicago.The father, who is also named Jacob Blake, said he was driving from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Kenosha to be with his son.He said his son has “eight holes” in his body and that doctors don’t know if the paralysis will be permanent.Protests in Blake's honor happened across the country Monday night, including in Portland, San Diego, New York, Minneapolis, and Denver.Police declared a riot in Portland after fires were set outside of the offices of the police association. In San Diego, at least three protesters were arrested.Locally, anger over Blake's shooting spilled into the streets of Kenosha for a second night Monday. Police again fired tear gas at hundreds of protesters who defied a curfew, threw bottles and shot fireworks at law enforcement guarding the courthouse.Wisconsin Democratic Gov. Tony Evers activated 125 members of the National Guard to assist local law enforcement Monday. Police fired the tear gas about 30 minutes after an 8 p.m. curfew took effect, but many protesters remained out hours later.Blake was shot by Kenosha police just after 5 p.m. Sunday. (KGTV) - Anabel and Dewey will celebrate 21 years of marriage this year, but in the smallest fraction of that time, everything from their life was destroyed.The couple lived in their Jamul home with Anabel’s mother and their five cats. Saturday, Anabel was at work and her mother was out of town. Dewey saw there was a fire in the distance, but felt confident it would be contained quickly, like most of the fires that spark in their area. He left the home, not knowing it would be the last time he saw it standing.That night, flames engulfed their home. Video captured shows it on fire, with firefighters nearby trying to find the flames, but they were unsuccessful. KANSAS CITY, Kansas — A second company associated with Schlitterbahn has been named in a newly unsealed criminal indictment.Henry & Sons Construction is listed as a co-defendant in the murder case of 10 year old Caleb Schwab.The boy died on the Verruckt water slide in 2016.According to the indictment, Henry & Sons was the design and construction company for Verruckt.Reviews posted online by people who identify themselves as former employees raise safety concerns before the Schwab tragedy. On the job website Indeed.com, a person who identifies himself as a former welder for Henry & Sons submitted a February 2015 review for the company.The review claims management would ignore issues or "let them pass" like damaged work equipment.The welder also says managers wouldn't require a safety harness to work six feet off the ground and they "just wanted to get the job done no matter how risky it could be."Other review headlines include "Unsafe Working Environment", "Lack of Management Skills" and "Unorganized."At least one poster, however, gave the company five stars, calling it "an amazing place to work." The latest indictment states company owner Jeff Henry hired a man named John Hunsucker as a consultant for the operation and safety of Verruckt.But Hunsucker told investigators that while he could make suggestions, it was only Henry who made the decisions.The indictment further says Henry never asked Hunsucker to check if the water slide met industry safety standards, which the indictment claims in many ways it did not. 1587
