"I have meltdowns where I just cry because I'm worried and scared."Bilodeau isn't the only one with that anxiety.A new study by AARP says the price for specialty prescription drugs, ones that are generally infused or injected, rose 7 percent in 2017. Federal and State governments are now moving legislation to help lower prices and increase transparency. The first of a series of storms is set to arrive Monday, bringing rain and snow to the county. A second storm is due to bring another round of moisture Christmas night through Thursday. Now, a growing number of residents are saying goodbye to cable and satellite, and subscribing to more affordable streaming services. "Really for us, I just felt guilty flipping through those channels all the time because I knew we're paying for them, but at the same time if it's not Game of Thrones we're not really watching anyway," said Jason Stump, who got rid of cable about four weeks ago. Stump, who lives in La Mesa, kept his cable for years because he feared not being able to watch live sports. But everything changed when he discovered that YouTube TV offered Fox Sports San Diego, which carries the Padres, four versions of ESPN, and the local channels. The price tag? a month, down from the 0 he was paying monthly for cable. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Lifeguards say a swimmer who disappeared early Saturday in Pacific Beach has been found safe.San Diego Lifeguards say four friends went into the ocean around 1:30 a.m. across from the Ocean Blvd. and Garnet Ave. beach entrance. But one of the friends did not return, prompting searches throughout the morning by U.S. Coast Guard and lifeguard crews.Later Saturday, the missing person was located safe at a friend's house, the Coast Guard told 10News.The swimmer was reportedly celebrating his 21st birthday at the nearby Waterbar before the group went for a swim, according to San Diego Lifeguard Lieutenant Rich Stropky.Though the group told lifeguards the water was only waist deep in the area they were swimming, the swimmer somehow became separated. The person's clothes, wallet, and phone were also left behind when the group returned to shore, Stropky said.Saturday morning, a U.S. Coast Guard cutter and helicopter assisted in the search. 972

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Just days after San Diego County ordered a shutdown of indoor dining and San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer signed an executive order that makes it easier for restaurants to move seating outdoors, many restaurants are already opening up business outside.Johan Engman is the owner of Rise and Shine Hospitality, which has 18 restaurant locations under the umbrella. Ten of those are Breakfast Republic. He said about half of the 18 locations have expanded to include either sidewalk, parking lot, or shared courtyard space for tables.“Let’s not waste our time complaining or feeling sorry for ourselves. Let’s figure out what do we need to do to give us the best odds to survive this and let’s just do it,” said Engman.For the Pacific Beach Breakfast Republic location, he said there were about 170 seats prior to coronavirus. Once there were social distancing limits, he could seat about 80. With the new ban on indoor seating, that left only about 30 seats on his patio, so the addition of parking lot space will bump seating back up to about 80 people. He said financially, they’re taking a hit, but he made the decision to stay open to help his employees.“Not only seeing how financially detrimental that is, but the morale. So you lay off all your managers then you hire them back. Imagine them literally a couple weeks later you send that message again,” he said.Similarly, La Puerta is seeing the roller coaster of numbers. Owner Merritte Powell said the Gaslamp restaurant is also expanding onto the sidewalk.
