(AP) — The owner of a pharmacy that provided drugs to Nebraska for use in a 2018 execution is expressing remorse for making the sale, but acknowledging that he knew that prison officials wanted them for a lethal injection.Public records released late Thursday show that Community Pharmacy Services, a pharmacy in Gretna, Nebraska, agreed to sell the drugs to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services for two payments totaling ,500.State officials had refused to identify their supplier until the Nebraska Supreme Court ruled in May that they cannot withhold that information.Pharmacy owner Kyle Janssen says the drugs supplied to the Nebraska Department of Corrections were used in the August 2018 execution of Carey Dean Moore, the first death by lethal injection in the state. LAS VEGAS (AP) — A former magazine model, her boyfriend and their former roommate are headed toward trial in the killing of a 71-year-old California psychiatrist whose body was found outside Las Vegas, a defense attorney said Friday.Kelsey Nichole Turner's lawyer, Brian Smith, said his client, Jon Logan Kennison, and Diana Nicole Pena are still due Monday before a Las Vegas judge on murder and conspiracy charges in the slaying of Thomas Kirk Burchard.However, Smith said their preliminary hearing will be called off after a grand jury handed up an indictment moving the case to Nevada state court for trial.Burchard lived in Salinas, California. Police say he had an intimate relationship with Turner and paid rent on a Las Vegas home where Turner, Kennison and Pena lived.Turner, Kennison and Pena are accused of killing Burchard and leaving his bludgeoned corpse in Turner's Mercedes Benz where it was found March 7 on a desert road between Las Vegas and Lake Mead.Turner, 26, modeled for Playboy Italia and Maxim magazines. LAND O' LAKES, Fla. — Pasco County, Florida Sheriff's Office is investigating in incident where a Sunlake High School Resource Officer slammed a student during an arrest.PCSO says that the incident occurred Tuesday when the school administration requested the school resource officer, Rich Stackon, remove a student from the cafeteria.Leading up to the incident, school administrators asked the student to return to class several times before the SRO was called in. The student was reportedly skipping class and being disruptive.According to deputies, when the male SRO attempted to place the female student in custody she resisted arrest.In a video, recorded by another student, the SRO can be seen slamming the student to the ground after resisting. 784

(KGTV) - Hundreds of La Mesa neighbors came out to clean up and board up businesses Sunday morning.Albert's Fresh Mexican Food owner Albert Garzon said he saw his business get destroyed Saturday night, "there's nothing you can do about it but just watch, it was just so much chaos and just people running left and right."He said when he came back his business was being boarded up by volunteers. "Under the circumstances with the COVID to make matters worse for all these poor business owners that are barely making ends meet before this even started," Garzon said.The entire La Mesa Springs Shopping Center was covered in boards, provided by a local construction company, Meram Building."Before I even got here my business was clean, it was so many volunteers and I was, literally I had tears in my eyes," Chintu Patel, Owner of Menchie's, said.Both Patel and Garzon were thankful to see support, their heartbreak replaced with gratitude and a sense of perseverance."What the people of La Mesa have come out to do for their community is priceless and that's why we're keeping strong and we're La Mesa strong," Garzon said.Neighbors swept up glass, threw out trash and did anything that was needed. (KGTV) - A tree trimming truck crashed into the side of a La Mesa church Wednesday, creating a gaping hole in the side of the building.A tree trimming crew was working on some trees on Pointe Ave., when their truck began rolling down the hill into the San Diego Taiwanese Presbyterian Church at 4426 Harbison Ave. around 1:30 p.m. according to witnesses."We all watched helplessly as there was nothing we could do," Rob Engquist, a witness, said. "Turns out they had gone out to reposition it, moved their wheel chalk out fo the way, don't know if the parking break was set or what happened, but the truck was going down the road on its own."La Mesa officials are investigating how the truck became dislodged.No one was inside the building at the time of the crash.The church's pastor told 10News the building hit by the truck is home to a weekly Bible study held Wednesday nights. 905
