A landspout tornado briefly touched down in New Jersey on Saturday and the high winds flipped over a car.The tornado moved across a warehouse parking lot in Mount Laurel Township about 2 p.m. ET before overturning the car, the National Weather Service said.It also passed over a nearby warehouse building, causing minor roof damage."Portions of roof material were pulled back causing the roof to bow. Two air conditioning units were torn off the roof. A Kansas City man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted three people outside a Platte County motel and shot a service dog who tried to intervene in the attack. According to a probable cause statement, Mardrecuis D. Williams, 25, got into a fight with a person on Feb. 26 at a Motel 6. Both Williams and the other person were asked to leave the motel and not return. After being asked to leave, Williams returned twice overnight and knocked on the victims’ door, saying that he would kill them, according to the report. The next day, as the three victims were checking out and walking toward their vehicle, Williams and another suspect allegedly came out from behind a dumpster and began attacking them. At one point, Lolly, a 3-year-old Border Collie, attacked Williams, and he allegedly shot the service dog, the report said. Lolly was taken to an area animal hospital, where she had surgery to repair the gunshot wound to her left side and a ruptured spleen. Her intestines had fallen out due to the impact of the bullet, which veterinary staff also repaired. In addition, she had a three-inch laceration to her rear leg. The female victim told police that she suffers from a condition that causes joint pain, dizziness and panic attacks. Lolly helps provide balance during her dizziness episodes and provides comfort during panic attacks, she said.Williams was charged with three counts of second-degree assault, three counts of armed criminal action and one count each of unlawful use of a weapon, first-degree trespass and causing substantial injury to a service dog.He is being held at the Jackson County Jail on a ,000 cash bond. 1656

A Delta pilot was taken off a fully boarded plane on Tuesday morning at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport and arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol, airport spokesman Patrick Hogan told CNN.The pilot, 37-year-old Gabriel Lyle Schroeder from Rosemount, Minnesota, was arrested a little after 11 a.m. local time after an investigation was conducted by airport police, Hogan said.Before getting on the plane, Schroeder was seen leaving a TSA screening line for crew members when he noticed there was additional screening being conducted, the spokesman said."The individual left the line, which drew suspicion," Hogan said. Schroeder later went back into the screening line and boarded the plane.Authorities found a container of alcohol in Schroeder's possession once he was taken into custody. Hogan declined to provide additional details to CNN about what kind of alcohol was confiscated.There are no formal charges against Schroeder at this time and any formal complaint is pending as investigators await toxicology results, which may take as long as a week, Hogan told CNN. A Florida man is facing a charge of attempted murder after body camera and dashcam video showed him dragging a sheriff's deputy with his car during a traffic stop.Rocky Rudolph, 38, of Apopka, Florida, was pulled over by Seminole County Sheriff's Deputy Aaron Blais Saturday.The body camera footage released by the Seminole County Sheriff's Office Sunday shows the deputy and the driver having a calm, friendly interaction in the first few minutes of the traffic stop after Blais tells Rudolph he pulled him over for having tinted windows. The two men even joke with each other about the suspect's unusual name.But things turn sour when Blais asks Rudolph if he has any marijuana in the vehicle before telling him to turn off his vehicle.Instead, Rudolph throws the car in drive as the deputy hangs out of the window screaming for the driver to stop.Rudolph briefly stops and Blais points a gun at him ordering him to stop the car before Rudolph pulls off again toward a highway.Dashcam video shows the deputy fall off of the vehicle as it speeds away.The sheriff's office searched for Rudolph following the incident and he was taken into custody shortly before 4:30 p.m. Saturday, the department said.Blais was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released from the hospital Saturday, according to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office.Rudolph is being held without bond in Seminole County Jail on charges of attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer with violence, according to the county jail roster.A court appearance for Rudolph is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday.CNN has not determined whether Rudolph currently has legal representation in this case. 1764
