Starting November 1, you can travel there if you get a negative PCR test 7 days before your trip. Then, you'll have to get a rapid antigen test when you get there and four-days later.Hawaii lifted its 14-day quarantine last week for people who have a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the flight.“Having these alternatives to quarantine related to travel creates some confusion about what a test really means in the context of quarantine, so I worry a little bit that we're losing that message that a test is only just a moment in time,” said Dr. Shira Doron, an infectious disease physician at Tufts Medical Center.Doron says because of the incubation period for COVID-19, you can have it any time between 2 and 14 days after you're exposed. A negative result is only at the time you took the test.Recent studies have shown your risk of contracting the coronavirus on your flight is very low if strict mask wearing is followed.“I think, you know, the bigger issue is an influx of people incubating COVID-19 into an island that may have done a really good job controlling the pandemic and on the flip side really needs that tourist revenue,” said Doron.She says places like the Bahamas that require multiple tests is more effective.It could be a challenge to get that test before you leave. Doron says many hospitals stopped doing pre-and-post travel testing because of a lack of supplies.The turnaround time on getting the test is also an issue. (AP) — Police in Prescott Valley say a woman has been arrested in California in a custodial interference case.They say 36-year-old Erica Chantle Lunsford of Prescott Valley was being held on suspicion of kidnapping and unlawful use of a means of transportation.She remains in custody in California pending extradition to Arizona. Police say they were notified of a possible kidnapping involving a child around 1 p.m. Saturday.They say the victim reported her daughter had taken her vehicle without permission along with the two children, ages 5 and 10. Police say the victim is the custodial parent of the 10-year-old child.The California Highway Patrol located the stolen vehicle in Indio, arrested the suspect and recovered the children. 770

(KGTV) - Family and friends are preparing to say goodbye to a Poway teen, killed while driving home from college for Christmas break."She always brings a positive vibe wherever she goes. Her smile can really brighten up the room," said friend Brandon Kim.For the friends of Kim Huynh, smiles for them are hard to muster."To me it was just shock," said Kim.Last Thursday night, the 18-year-old Huynh was driving back home to Poway with her older sister after finishing her first quarter at UC Riverside, when the car spun out on a Murietta highway, slamming into a tree and killing her. Her sister suffered minor injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation."She was one of my closest friends," said Kim. Kim met Huynh in grade school."Super smart. Ten times smarter than me," said Kim.Kim said his friend also had a joyful side and loved having fun. Huynh danced for one of Rancho Bernardo High's dance teams. After graduating, she enrolled at UC Riverside on scholarship. The pre-med student also hoped to help her immigrant parents."She said she wanted to become a doctor to give back to them for taking such good care of her," said Kim.After her death, friends gathered this weekend to remember a promising life cut short."Everybody broke down ... I want to grow up with everyone. The fact I have to leave someone behind breaks my heart," said Kim.The funeral is planned for Thursday.
