PHOENIX, Ariz. – Blanca Ramirez knows how to step past an obstacle.“We’re trying to register people to vote,” said Ramirez. “It’s really important to vote.”Leading up to the October 5 deadline for voters to register in Arizona, Ramirez walked from shopper to shopper in a grocery store parking lot in south Phoenix, making sure people were registered to cast their ballot.“I come at eight in the morning and start talking to people and see if they are registering to vote,” she said.Ramirez’s mission is driven by the obstacles and hurdles she’s overcome.
