Actor Brendan Fraser has accused a member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the group that presents the annual Golden Globe Awards, of groping him at an event in 2003.In a profile in GQ, Fraser recounts an encounter with former HFPA president Philip Berk at a luncheon hosted by the organization at the Beverly Hills Hotel.Fraser alleges Berk grabbed his rear end and, through his pants, touched him in the area between his genitals and his anus."I felt ill. I felt like a little kid," Fraser told GQ. "I felt like there was a ball in my throat. ALPINE (CNS) - A 7-year old tiger at Alpine's Lions Tigers & Bears animal rescue facility died of injuries inflicted by a fellow tiger, it was announced Tuesday.Maverick suffered fatal injuries after he and the other tiger -- Moka - - were accidentally allowed to come into contact with one another on Monday. The animals were living in separate enclosures, according to Lions Tigers & Bears founder Bobbi Brink, who said no staff or visitors were harmed.The staff veterinarian assessed both animals afterward. Moka has scratches, but no serious injuries."This was a human error, and one we're so deeply heartbroken about," Brink said. "When caring for a 400-plus-pound apex predator, layered safety measures must be established, and this is exactly what we've implemented at our accredited sanctuary since our founding."Unfortunately, one of our safety measures was mistakenly missed, and because these magnificent, massive animals are wild, their reactions to their surroundings -- especially new situations -- are unpredictable," she said.According to Brink, the nonprofit organization regularly conducts staff safety trainings, including one on emergency protocols last weekend. She said the protocols will be reviewed extensively this week.Maverick was rescued on April 20, 2014, at 9 months old. He was born in captivity and purchased illegally by someone who did not have the proper licensing to own an exotic animal. California Fish & Wildlife personnel seized Maverick and reached out to Lions Tigers & Bears to provide him with a home."There is an inherent risk when keeping apex predators in captivity, and we would like nothing more than to see an end to this, but until then, and as long as our sanctuary is needed, we will continue to be there for these animals in need," Brink said. A wave of construction will bring thousands of new apartments to downtown in the next few years. As those complexes start to open, they could bring relief to San Diego's housing crisis.This July, Park 12 will be the biggest to open, adding 718 units to the downtown area. The complex features three buildings, including a 37 story tower. Jerry Brand, with developer Greystar, says they wanted to go big in downtown because they see the area going through tremendous growth."Last year, San Diego had the largest employment growth in CA as a city. It was about 30,000 jobs, and that doesn't include the military," Brand says. "That creates housing demand, so we're seeing continued demand in the future."Other developers agree. According to Civic San Diego's 2017 Downtown Development Report, there were 1,014 new apartments completed in downtown in 2017. That's the third most since 2001. The report shows another 10,561 apartments either under construction, waiting to be built, or waiting for approval.Little Italy is one of the fastest growing areas. Projects like Luma, AV 8, Amo and Vici will add nearly 600 apartments to the area by the start of 2019."This is the most dynamic neighborhood in San Diego," says Rich Gustafson, the President of CityMark Development. They're putting the finishing touches on AV8, which will have 133 units."The demand is there," he says. "San Diego, in general, is slow in providing the housing supply, but we're doing the best that we can in Little Italy."It's not just apartments. Across Downtown, Civic San Diego says there are 1,213 condominiums either under construction or in the planning stages. Airbnb has updated some of its COVID-19 protocols, requiring everyone to wear a mask and social distance when interacting with each other, as well as introducing a five-step cleaning process for hosts to follow amid the coronavirus pandemic.The online rental company also stated in its announcement that by Nov. 20, hosts must comply with their five-step cleaning process or risk having their accounts suspended or removed from the site.The company's cleaning program, which was developed alongside fellow health and hospitality experts, consists of hosts preparing themselves and their team to clean effectively, sweeping and dusting before sanitizing, spraying high-touch surfaces (door handles, light switches) with approved disinfectant spray, referring to its room-by-room checklist to make sure everything is cleaned correctly, and resetting the room.Once a host commits to the five-step cleaning process, Airbnb says their listings will have a highlight spotlighting their commitment to clean.To stop the spread of COVID-19, Airbnb only allows a maximum of 10 guests per stay, washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds, and wearing protective equipment at all times.Airbnb has a list of protocols for cleaning on specific rooms in your house for guests, which can be found here. 1305
