(KGTV) — Escondido Fire Department is working to identify potential patients who came into contact with a firefighter paramedic who has tested positive for coronavirus.Escondido Fire Department says it learned Sunday of a firefighter paramedic who tested positive for COVID-19. Several days earlier, the employee was in contact with other people who later tested positive as well, the department said.The firefighter had recently been at work but was asymptomatic at the time. The department is notifying all patients that may have been in contact with the employee.EFD says the firefighter is currently at home under quarantine and has very mild symptoms.Other EFD staff who were in contact with the firefighter at work have shown no symptoms, tested negative for COVID-19, and are being quarantined and monitored in accordance with CDC procedures."The health and safety of our community remains our highest priority. Embattled Missouri Governor Eric Greitens announced on Tuesday he will resign over the scandals that have dominated his tenure.The Republican governor has been embroiled in scandal for weeks. Last month, a Missouri state House committee released a report alleging that Greitens subjected a woman to non-consensual sexual activity and violence. Greitens described the report as "tabloid trash gossip" rooted in "lies and falsehoods."In late April, Greitens was indicted on a felony charge of computer tampering tied to his campaign's alleged use of a charity donor list.Greitens made the announcement that he will step down during a press conference outside his office.Earlier this month, Missouri state lawmakers announced plans to convene a special legislative session to weigh potential disciplinary actions against the governor.A request for comment to Greitens' communications director was not immediately returned. 962

Family members of a Tennessee woman accused of ramming a security barrier at the White House said she is mentally ill and needs treatment.Jessica Ford went before a judge Thursday after police in Washington, DC said she plowed into the White House fencing and was immediately taken into custody by the Secret Service.It was Ford's fourth and most dramatic effort to gain access to the White House in recent months. She was charged with three felonies.The question of why Ford did what she did was no mystery. Her family said she suffers from a mental illness and that they actually warned the Secret Service last week that Ford, armed with a BB gun, was again headed for the White House.The 35-year-old insists her children live in the White House, and told the judge in court that her fiance is the President. "She is very delusional. She thinks her children are in the White House. That's why she keeps going up there," said Victoria Walls, Fords' cousin.In Ford's most recent attempt to get to the White House, she thought it was the holiday season."She decided when she left (last week) it was Christmas Eve, and I got to be there by Christmas Day," said her mother Alice Wilson. Authorities were watching for Ford since her family called to warn them that she was in route with plans to ram a gate."I said you can't go do that. They will kill you," said Walls.Ford still went and the Secret Service was waiting."I think that's the reason they didn't kill her, because they knew she was coming and knew she had a BB gun," said Wilson.Ford faces felonies and possibly years in prison."Oh, I love her with all my heart," said Wilson. She said her daughter needs help. FALLBROOK, Calif. (KGTV) - A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries Friday when a tree fell on him during a period of high winds in Fallbrook.The tree that injured the motorcycle rider fell on South Mission Road and West Elder Street, according to North County Fire. The unidentified man was flown to Palomar Hospital. Another tree fell at De Luz Road and Patton Oaks Friday afternoon, shutting down De Luz for about two hours. San Diego County Roads crews assisted firefighters in clearing the street. RELATED: Check 10News Pinpoint Weather conditionsThe area of Olive Hill Road and Aqua Hill Road was also closed about two hours due to a fallen tree, possibly a eucalyptus.
