LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Sharon Osbourne announced Monday that she’s tested positive for the novel coronavirus.In a tweet, the TV personality said she was briefly hospitalized due to COVID-19, but she’s now recuperating at a location away from her husband, Ozzy. Michael Rotondo, 30, thought he could eek out just a few more months under his parents' roof, but a New York judge ruled on Tuesday it's time for Rotondo to move out. According to the Syracuse Post-Standard, Rotondo gained praise from the judge for the legal arguments he made in court. But after a 90-minute debate, which included Judge Donald Greenwood trying to convince Rotondo to move out on his own, the judge ruled that it was legal to immediately evict the 30-year-old. Rotondo's parents had given him several notices to leave. At odds was Rotondo's belief that he was entitled to a six-month period after being formally notified that he was being evicted. The judge ruled that a six-month provision does not apply to family members. Rotondo???????'s said he was simply not ready to leave a bedroom in his parents' house. MIAMI — All of South Florida is now in the cone of concern for Hurricane Eta, which hammered Nicaragua on Tuesday.According to the 4 a.m. ET update from the National Hurricane Center, Eta is packing maximum sustained winds of 60 mph.The NHC said Eta will rapidly weaken as the storm moves farther inland over Nicaragua and Honduras.The forecasts project the storm will curve and emerge over the northwestern Caribbean Sea on Thursday night or Friday. Once it does, forecasters said it could re-strengthen into a tropical storm.By Sunday at 7 p.m., the center of Eta will be just south of Florida with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph.According to meteorologists for Scripps station WPTV in Palm Beach, Florida project that there will be a higher confidence on Friday for the potential impacts in South Florida."Computer models are in fairly good agreement, but the timing is different," said WPTV chief meteorologist Steve Weagle said. "Some are much faster, bringing the rainfall in on Friday. Others a lot slower, bringing it in on Saturday."At that point, Weagle said the forecast is calling for tropical storm conditions over the weekend with heavy rain and gusty winds.Weagle said rain bands will likely arrive later on Friday, loosely tied to Eta and a weak front over Cuba. LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The mayor of Los Angeles is authorizing the city to shut off the utilities at homes and businesses that host large parties during the COVID-19 pandemic.Mayor Eric Garcetti made the announcement Wednesday, arguing that such large gatherings put the entire community at risk of contracting the deadly coronavirus.Garcetti says he will allow the city to shut off Los Angeles Department of Water and Power service in “egregious” cases, in which houses, businesses and other venues are hosting unpermitted large gatherings.“While we have already closed all nightclubs and bars, these large house parties have essentially become nightclubs in the hills,” said Garcetti. “Many times, the homes are vacant or used for short term rentals. And beyond the noise, traffic and nuisance, these large parties are unsafe and can cost Angelinos their lives.”Starting on Friday night, Garcetti says if the Los Angeles Police Department responds and verifies that a large gathering is occurring at a reoffending property, officers will provide notice and initiate the process to request that DWP shut off service within the next 48 hours.The mayor’s announcement came hours after a city councilman introduced a motion to increase penalties for property owners who hold large parties in violation of public health orders.
