(KGTV) - Students in the San Dieguito Union High School District won't be returning to campus in January.Monday morning, the school board voted to confirm that it will not continue with its reopening plan that would have brought students back on campus one day a week beginning on January 4th, with the option of returning five days a week on the 27th.The move comes after the union representing the teachers filed a lawsuit last week to block the return.Jason Barry's daughter is in 7th at Earl Warren Middle School. She was looking forward to returning to class."Here we are again, kicking the can down the road. I hope this isn't a pattern that is going to continue," said Barry.Barry broke the news to his daughter Monday after the board vote. "She's gone from, as this whole thing has gone on, she's gone from tears to frustration to just quiet," said Barry.Newly elected Trustee Michael Allman was the only board member to vote against ratifying the settlement reached last week with the union."We offer all this accommodation so that these essential workers, who are guaranteed the highest paid in the county can teach our kids, and they say thank you by filing a lawsuit , and then they offer to settle as they hold the kids as bargaining chips and I just don't want to reward that behavior," said Allman during the meeting which was held via Zoom.The California Teachers Association filed a legal petition on behalf of the San Dieguito Faculty Association. The union said the district's reopening plan violated the state's public health rules concerning the pandemic.Under the state's health mandate, schools that were already open for in-person instruction were allowed to remain open. The legal petition challenged the district's definition of "open," alleging that none of the schools was open for regular instruction; instead, they were open for small cohorts.The union also estimated up to 20% of teachers would not return in January either for health concerns or childcare issues.Barry and other parents are starting a grassroots effort to make it easier for people to become substitutes. Many parents say they are willing to step in to help fill the void. CNN previously reported FBI agents removed Cohen's computer, cellphone, business files and financial documents, according to the source.The search warrant also sought communications between then-candidate Trump and his associates regarding efforts to prevent disclosure of the tape, according to one of the sources. In addition, investigators wanted records and communications concerning other potential negative information about the candidate that the campaign would have wanted to contain ahead of the election. The source said the warrant was not specific about what this additional information would be.The warrant is the first indication that investigators suspect there was any effort to suppress the tape. It is not clear Cohen played any role in the Access Hollywood controversy.Another source familiar with the matter confirmed to CNN that agents sought information regarding the Access Hollywood tape, as The New York Times first reported.An attorney for Cohen didn't respond immediately to request for comment. ESCONDIDO (CNS) - Two men were stabbed, one fatally, in a gang-related attack at a mobile home park in Escondido and the suspects were at large Saturday morning.The stabbing occurred at 8:30 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of West 15th Avenue near the Centre City Parkway when two men in a black Toyota sedan arrived at the location and began arguing with the victims. At one point in the argument, one of the suspects pulled out a knife and stabbed both victims, according to Lt. Chris Lick of the Escondido Police Department.The victims, ages 30 and 25, were rushed to a hospital where the older man died and the younger man was listed in stable condition, Lick said.The suspects left the area in an unknown direction. (KGTV) - The dramatic collapse of a tree in front of an Escondido family’s home was caught on camera during a Red Flag Warning Tuesday.Mike and Selene Neumann woke up to howling winds early Tuesday morning at their home on Pico de la Loma.Selene walked out to record video and saw a 60-foot tall tree laying across the yard and the top of their 1997 BMW Z3 Roadster.The tree, an Italian Cypress, mangled the convertible top, shattered the windows, and bent the door.When the Neumanns saw the video from their Ring camera, they were “astounded”.The fallen tree had been in place since the home was built in 1979.Experts checked out other trees on the Neumann’s property and removed a similar Italian Cypress near the uprooted tree. 756
