CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Lifeguards in Coronado are on alert after spotting at least two juvenile white sharks Wednesday and Thursday. According to lifeguards, the sharks were at least a quarter to half a mile off the coast and didn’t appear to be engaging swimmers or showing signs of aggression. “Under existing protocol, the City was not required to close the beach or publicly report the sightings,” said City Manager Blair King. CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) - A Coronado native is among the 12 people killed in the Thousand Oaks country bar shooting, according to California Lutheran University.Justin Meek, 23, was working as a bouncer at Borderline Bar and Grill when Ian David Long walked in and opened fire. CLEWISTON, Fla. -- An overturned sugarcane truck has caused the closure of southbound lanes of U.S. 27 near Clewiston Wednesday.Florida Highway Patrol reports that the truck overturned Wednesday morning at the intersection of U.S. 27 and Evercane Road, just east of Clewiston.All southbound lanes were closed while crews clean up the approximately 25 tons of sugarcane that spilled onto the roadway.The roadway has since reopened.No injuries are reported. 468
