Amar Bhattacharya, senior fellow with the Brookings Institute, said what is encouraging is that the world has started to realize that the Chinese economy is "relatively OK," and can and will make a big difference in the world.

The Chinese leader pointed out that it is in line with the common interests of both countries and conducive to the stability and prosperity of the Asia-Pacific region that China and New Zealand deepen their collaboration.

To facilitate bilateral investment, China is mulling setting up a three-billion-U.S.dollar investment fund and has proposed to establish a "16+1" multilateral financial firm to expand financing channels and reduce financing cost.

Now China has become the continent's largest trading partner, with two-way trade volume expected to reach 300 billion dollars in 2015, according to the Ministry of Commerce of China.

The two sides reached consensus on pragmatic cooperation, partly embodied in a joint communique, on party-to-party exchanges, defense and security coordination, alignment of development strategies and people-to-people exchanges.
