China is willing to launch cooperation on ecological and environmental protection with countries along the Belt and Road, expand the International Coalition for Green Development and promote a coalition of sustainable cities under the BRI, according to a report released last Monday.
Nicholas Yang, secretary for innovation and technology of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government, also attended the ceremony. He said that true innovation comes from collaboration and by pooling together the world's top scientific institutions to collaborate with local universities. Hong Kong is poised to become a hub for global research collaboration, he said.
The vice premier urged Hainan to make fresh progress in the pilot free trade zone construction, and come up with a plan to build a free trade port with Chinese characteristics in the island province.
