The president of a California university is apologizing to one of his professors and her family after they were allegedly racially profiled on campus.In a thread on social media, Danielle Morgan outlined how officers escorted her brother to her house on campus at Santa Clara University over the weekend. She is an assistant professor in the College of Arts and Sciences.Morgan recalls that her brother came to the door and said the officers needed her to come out and “vouch for me.” Morgan told CNN she was asked to produce ID to prove who she was and where she lived.“I asked what the issue was and he (the officer) said my brother was ‘in the bushes’ and it was ‘suspicious’ and they thought he may have been homeless. I asked why I needed to show ID at my own home. He said ‘Well, it's not your home. The University owns it,’” Morgan said. 852

The National Rifle Association and a mall in Illinois stepped in for a boy who was left in tears after a mall Santa told him he couldn't have a Nerf gun for Christmas.According to USA Today, the Dec. 6 exchange between the mall Santa at the Harlem Irving Plaza in Norridge, Illinois, and Sabella DeCarlo's son Michael went viral last week.In the video, Michael burst into tears after being told no several times by the mall Santa when he asked for a Nerf gun for Christmas, USA Today reported.In an interview with Fox News, Sabella told the network she was shocked by Santa's response, thinking he may have misheard her son, and then thought it was a joke.But Santa's response was still no.After hearing about what had happened, officials with the Harlem Irving Plaza sent a Santa out to Michael's home to gift him with a Nerf gun.In a Facebook post, the mall and the third-party Santa company were "distraught and deeply apologetic" about what transpired between Michael and the Santa and wanted to make sure Michael wasn't sad."We are happy to report that the "real" Santa visited the boy at his home today to bring him a nerf gun! The National Basketball Association is reportedly targeting to start the 2020-21 season sometime in December, according to the Associated Press and ESPN.The Associated Press reported that the league is eyeing to start the new season back up on Dec. 22 and teams playing 70 games.According to ESPN, the board of governors met Friday and discussed potentially starting the upcoming season on Christmas Day to take advantage of that "historically prime NBA showcase" and play fewer than 82 games.If the NBA does decide to begin playing near the end of December, that means training camps would start near the end of November, the AP reported.The 2019-20 season ended on Oct. 11 when the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Miami Heat for the NBA Championship. The Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC says five of its most valuable artifacts — all thought to be part of the historic Dead Sea Scrolls — are fake and will not be displayed anymore.German-based scholars tested the fragments and found that five "show characteristics inconsistent with ancient origin and therefore will no longer be displayed at the museum.""Though we had hoped the testing would render different results, this is an opportunity to educate the public on the importance of verifying the authenticity of rare biblical artifacts, the elaborate testing process undertaken and our commitment to transparency," said Jeffrey Kloha, the chief curatorial officer for Museum of the Bible."As an educational institution entrusted with cultural heritage, the museum upholds and adheres to all museum and ethical guidelines on collection care, research and display."But some scholars had questioned the fragments in the collection even before the museum opened with splashy ceremonies last November. Others believe they are all fake.Steve Green, the museum's founder and chairman, won't say how much his family spent for the 16 fragments in its collection. But other evangelicals, including a Baptist seminary in Texas and an evangelical college in California, have paid millions to purchase similar pieces of the Dead Sea Scrolls.In April 2017, Bible Museum sent five fragments to the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und-prüfung (BAM) a German institute for analyzing materials, where scholars tested for 3D digital microscopy and conducted material analyses of the ink and sediment on the papyrus.
