The Port Authority commissioner who abruptly resigned last week was caught on camera berating police officers in New Jersey.The Tenafly Police Department released the video of Caren Z. Turner, 60, from a March 31 traffic stop. In it, she flashed her badge and credentials, giving the appearance that she was trying to interfere on behalf of her daughter and her daughter's friend, who were also in the vehicle.She can be heard on the video demanding information from police and reminding the officers of the fact that she worked at the Port Authority.Police reportedly pulled over the vehicle for its front tinted windows and an unclear license plate, and eventually discovered an issue with the vehicle registration. 725

The NFL and the Players Association announced Tuesday there were eight new confirmed positive tests among players and 11 new confirmed positives among other personnel in the latest round of testing for COVID-19. The test results are from October 11-17.The report does not identify which teams the players are on, or which roles the other personnel serve. They said 15,167 tests were administered last week to 2,459 players, and 23,713 tests were given to 5,340 personnel.During the previous week, October 4-10, there were also eight players who had new confirmed positive tests and seven other personnel.The league says they have administered more than 450,000 tests for the coronavirus between August 1 and October 17. The Gulf Coast appears to have dodged a bullet after Marco — once a tropical storm — collapsed into a post-tropical cyclone as it neared the Louisiana coast. But the National Hurricane Center (NHC) warns that the region faces a more substantial threat in Hurricane Laura.Just after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, the NHC reported that Laura had officially strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of over 74 mph. As part of the agency's 11 p.m.. ET update, the storm is expected to reach the Louisiana or Texas coast by late Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning. By the time it reaches the coast, the NHC forecasts that the storm could be a Major Category 3 hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of 120 MPH.At 11 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Hurricane Laura had top winds of 90 MPH, and was located 405 miles southeast of Lake Charles, Louisiana.
