OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - A message threatening African-Americans was found in a men’s bathroom at MiraCosta College in Oceanside, college police said Friday.The discovery was made Thursday afternoon in a stall of the restroom on the second floor of the Oceanside campus library, according to police. The exact nature of the threat was not released.College Police, Oceanside Police and the FBI received the report of a hate crime, officials said. The subject of the crime is unknown.Police are asking for anyone with information to call 760-795-6640. Officers also want to learn if there have been any other incidents of this nature.MiraCosta College President Sunita V. Cooke addressed the issue in a message to the community Friday.“I am dedicated to the safety and well-being of our campus community, and will ensure we take all actions, to the full extent of the law, against any such acts. Not since a monolith was found on the surface of the moon in Stanley Kubrick's classic "2001: A Space Odyssey" has a mystery object confounded the greatest minds of our generation.Or maybe not.According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, a curious metallic-looking object was found in the southeastern part of the state while conducting a count of bighorn sheep by helicopter.Utah Highway Patrol posted photos and videos of the object on Friday that showed a 10-foot tall metallic object with four sides. The surface is shiny but does not appear to be reflective.According to the post, the item was found in the "middle of nowhere."Officials won't announce the exact location of the object as "it is in a very remote area, and if individuals were to attempt to visit the area, there is a significant possibility they may become stranded and require rescue."It's not known who installed the metal monolith. OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - The San Diego Humane Society is asking for the public's help in solving an animal cruelty investigation. Around 5:30 p.m. on April 29 Humane Officers received a call about a loose goat running in and out of traffic at the busy Oceanside intersection of College Boulevard and Marvin Street.Oceanside resident Scott Palmer made the call when he noticed the goat on his commute home. “I literally told him to sit and stay, don’t know what I was thinking but I tried to distract him, and then he followed me to my car," said Palmer.Palmer described him as being as friendly as a dog.A Humane Law Officer picked up the goat and then received surveillance video of the incident. The footage shows two people abandoning the goat and driving away in a 4-door, white pickup truck.“It’s ok for you to come to us, please don’t abandon your animals when you can bring them to San Diego Humane Society and we'll take care of it for you," said Dariel Walker, with the Humane Society. She says if you cannot afford the fee, the Humane Society can still help.
