Republicans angry with the Justice Department over not providing documents to Congress are urging President Donald Trump to intervene in the latest dispute between House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes, a California Republican, and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.Nunes threatened on Fox News over the weekend to hold Sessions in contempt after the Justice Department said it would not comply with his subpoena sent last month about records tied to the Russia investigation and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.The move could give Trump a new reason to take aim at his attorney general, a frequent punching bag of the President's for recusing himself from overseeing the Russia investigation. Residents in states hit by Hurricane Laura continue the long recovery to restoring their homes and businesses destroyed in the Category 4 storm.The death toll from Hurricane Laura has risen to 19 people across Louisiana and Texas.Power and water outages were widely reported in the hardest-hit areas, and it is expected to take weeks before the outages are restored.One of the places hit by the storm was Orange, Texas. They are able to fill orders as soon as they come in and make good on their promise to donate a case to a healthcare worker for each one purchased.On Friday, Aeris donated phone cases to Vanderbilt University Medical Center."I am very excited to see what these 250 healthcare workers have to say," said Lichter.Next, the company plans to donate cases to hospitals in their hometowns, including New York City and San Diego.Aeris is working on new designs that incorporate copper."We see the future as copper-covered," said Lichter. President Donald Trump will meet Tuesday with the House and Senate Democratic leaders, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, in order to find a way to avert a partial government shutdown on December 21, when funding for the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies expires.The central debate — how to secure the US southern border — has been stewing for months. Trump wants to build a wall; Democrats don't.Schumer has urged Trump to either accept the Senate's bipartisan agreement to spend .6 billion to boost border security measures, or agree to a one-year spending resolution that would keep those funded at the current level of around .3 billion.
