WILL MCCAIN'S PASSING CHANGE THE RACE? Former state Sen. Kelli Ward walked back comments late Monday about the timing of the McCain family announcing he was stopping medical treatment and a tweet saying political correctness is a cancer. She apologized but also said the media misinterpreted some of her comments. McCain, who represented Arizona in both houses of Congress for more than 30 years, wasn't exactly embraced by any of the candidates in the race -- Ward, GOP Rep. Martha McSally or former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. They all ran towards President Donald Trump, in a sign of his hold over Republican voters. Ward was already lagging behind McSally, the establishment's favorite to defeat the likely Democratic nominee in the fall.HAS TRUMP PERMANENTLY CHANGED THE GOP PRIMARY GAME? The President's endorsement of Rep. Ron DeSantis immediately affected the GOP contest to replace Gov. Rick Scott. DeSantis is riding the wave of the Trump endorsement with a smaller ground game than his top rival, state Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam. Most statewide races come down to strong outreach and heavy media buys in Florida's diverse areas and media markets, but Trump's nod of approval may change that for Republicans. His strong support from the northern panhandle through the Gulf Coast in the South could prove that a tweet is mightier than the door knock.CAN PROGRESSIVE DEMS SURPRISE? Progressives Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who defeated powerful New York Rep. Joe Crowley in a primary in June, have both supported underdogs in key Florida Democratic primaries. If either Tallahassee mayor Andrew Gillum or activist Michael Hepburn can beat their better-known opponents, it would be a boost to the progressive movement, but it also might hurt Democrat's chances of flipping a vulnerable governor's mansion and House seat. Tonight's Democratic winner and the margin of victory will say a lot about the left in Florida. A united Democratic Party in Florida is vital to break the almost two decades-long GOP rule in Tallahassee, and with at least seven Republican-held congressional districts at play to flip, control of Congress may hinge on it as well. 2204

With the race this close, some might wonder why Stephan would pull out of another chance to win votes at a community forum - this one hosted by the San Diego Organizing Project."An important part of being the district attorney is being available, showing up and listening to your constituents," Jones-Wright said. Stephan is in Sacramento meeting with unnamed sources who may help her campaign,  scrambling to counter the .5 million dollar PAC contribution to Jones-Wright from billionaire progressive George Soros."I have a conflict tonight and I have already been to the same organization in 2017 and had a forum and answered questions," Stephan said. "I ask everybody to pay attention, to vote, not to buy the propaganda and not to buy the marketing and just to declare San Diego is not for sale." Stephan's campaign manager said the people who organized the forum, The San Diego Organizing Project - are actually connected financially to Soros. 10News asked the Organizing Committee about their funding. They don't deny that they have received funding from Soros but said that this does not mean they are siding with one candidate or the others. Jones wright isn't talking about Soros. "The momentum is on our side and so we are gonna keep up the fight."  1306

When you’re taking out a mortgage loan, your credit will be one of the key factors in whether you’re approved, and it will help determine your interest rate and possibly the loan terms. So check your credit before you begin the home buying process. Dispute any errors that could be dragging down your credit score and look for opportunities to improve your credit, such as making a dent in any outstanding debts. 422

While robocalls can come from legitimate institutions — like payment reminders you signed up for or school alerts — scams were the leading type of robocalls in October. Of the estimated 5.7 billion robocalls in October, 2.65 billion were scams. Five types of scams led the way in October, each one racking up more than 100 million robocalls. Health-related scams were the most popular, accounting for about 473 million robocalls in October. Interest rate scams and student loan scams were also common with about 236 million and 218 million robocalls, respectively. Social security scams and warranty scams were also common with about 153 million and 105 million robocalls each. YouMail's report also spotlights different regions where robocalls are especially rampant. According to the report, Atlanta was the city that received the most robocalls in October and Washington, D.C., had the highest number of robocalls per person. Texas was the state with the most robocalls at 636 million and Louisiana was the state with the most robocalls per person, averaging about 35 calls per person. With robocalls reaching billions per month, what is the U.S. doing to curb them?Six lawmakers in the U.S. House and Senate announced last week that they will soon send legislation to the president that will, hopefully, bring an end to robocalls.“Today, we are proud to announce that we have come to an agreement in principle on legislation, the Pallone-Thune TRACED Act, to combat the robocall epidemic that we believe can be signed into law by the President,” the six 1557
