Mr. Hidalgo actually walked off the job on Wednesday, October 23 of his own volition, and over his manager's objection. Roman Stoneworks and its officers desired to keep Mr. Hidalgo in its employment to perform his duties. He abandoned a job in progress and that was how his employment with Roman Stoneworks actually came to an end.Unfortunately this individual, who was employed for less than 2 months, is now seeking to exploit the publicity that this false claim has created. He has started a Gofundme page to attempt to capitalize on his newfound exposure. Meanwhile, Roman Stoneworks and its owner and personnel have been subjected to significant monetary damage, as well as threats, profanity and harassment by phone and email. Due to the backlash from these false claims, my client's webpage has had to be removed, and the individuals involved have been inundated with calls and emails.If Mr. Hidalgo chose to tell the truth to all of the people who have now heard his false claims, then the matter may be able to be resolved amicably. Unfortunately this does not appear to be the route chosen by this individual. My clients have needlessly suffered based on these allegations." 1529

Kayla Denney has devoted her career to saving every dog’s life that she can, and for that she's being awarded the 2019 National ‘Unsung Hero" Award by Petco.She's brought the animal shelter in Taft, Texas, from almost a 100 percent kill rate all the way down to 0 percent. Since she took over last November, each dog that has passed through here has found a forever home.“As of November 1st, we have saved 565 dogs and cats out of Taft,” said Kayla Denney. Denney is flying out to San Diego, California, to accept her award on Monday, an honor she says she knew nothing about.“There are thousands of applicants, I didn't know I was nominated,” said Denney. “I became the 2019 unsung hero for the country so one person in the whole United States and it still just blows my mind that that's still a thing.”The award is for her lifesaving efforts that have made a difference in Taft.Out of thousands of nominees, Denney made the top 5 in February, and was awarded ,000. Zhivargo Laing has lived in the Bahamas all of his life. “I grew up on Grand Bahama,” says the Freeport, Bahamas resident. Just a week ago, Hurricane Dorian made landfall as a Category 5 storm, flattening homes on the islands. “This level of damage to all of these structures, we have not seen before,” Laing says.Laing and his nephew, Ellison Laing, are still dealing with the devastation the hurricane left behind.“The water came to our waist, inside the house,” describes Ellison Laing.More than 4,800 people have been evacuated, and more people are waiting to be evacuated. Shelters are over max capacity. One woman in the shelter is not only grieving the loss of her home, but her loved ones as well.“I had three people pass in my family: my brother and my mom and my [cousin],” she says.Fifty people have been confirmed dead following the hurricane. There are still 1,300 people missing.In Freeport, located 50 miles away from Abaco, the majority of homes are without power and running water, making it difficult to begin the rebuilding process. “Yeah, they said it’s contaminated, says Ellison Laing of the water.“When the water came up, so did the septic, actually came up, too.”So, for now, the family has to wait.
