Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer did not display optimism on Thursday that all sides are close to a deal on a coronavirus stimulus package. His comments come as the Senate adjourned for the week without agreeing to a stimulus bill.Schumer said that negotiations at the White House on Thursday did not include Senate Republicans. SHERMAN HEIGHTS, Calif. (KGTV) - A storage facility for homeless people to keep their belongings is at capacity, leading some people to call for expansion.The facility is in Sherman Heights, near 20th Street and Commercial. It opened in June of 2018 with room for 500 bins.It was full by Halloween.Now there is a 200 person waiting list. The city initially wanted to put 1000 storage bins in the warehouse, but pushback from neighbors led to a compromise of just 500.Neighbors worried that the facility would be a magnet for homeless people, drawing them to the area.Six months later, people who spoke to 10News say the opposite has happened. They still see homeless people in the area, but not any more than before the facility opened.They also say the amount of clutter on the streets and sidewalks has decreased dramatically.Crime has also gone down in the area. According to the crimemapping.com website, there were 188 crimes reported within 1500 feet of the facility in August of 2018. In December, that number had dropped to 73 (see chart above).Part of that is from extra police patrol. A recent police department report says that SDPD is spending nearly million on overtime to add patrols in the neighborhood of the facility.City officials told the San Diego Union Tribune they have no plans to expand the facility. But at a meeting last month at the University of San Diego, several homeless advocated said it's an idea worth looking into. 1460

Several U.S. airlines are boosting their flight schedules ahead of the Thanksgiving in anticipation of a surge in travelers flying during the holiday amid the coronavirus pandemic.An American Airlines spokesperson told FOX Business that they plan to increase its flights from Nov. 24-25 and Nov. 28-30 by 15%, bumping up from an average of 3,500 flights per day to more than 4,000 flights over the holiday.United Airlines said that they would boost capacity, with the carrier predicting Thanksgiving week will be its busiest since March, so they are planning to add more than 1,400 domestic flights that week.The carrier added that they'd "swap in larger aircraft" to accommodate any last-minute travel demands.In December, United said it'll add more than 140 daily flights and increase capacity on more than 350 routes as passengers look to travel during the holidays that month.JetBlue and Delta Airlines are also adding more flights in anticipation of passengers traveling during the Thanksgiving holiday.JetBlue said 25 flights from New York City and surrounding areas to Florida, California, and in the Caribbean, such as Port-au-Prince, San Juan, Santiago, and Santo Domingo, will be added between Nov. 20 and Nov. 30.Meanwhile, Delta said it'll increase to over 3,800 peak-day flights per day during Thanksgiving.Delta said it'll increase service to leisure destinations in Hawaii, Mexico, and Florida. 1417

Several large pro-Trump protests converged at election counting locations in Michigan and Arizona on Wednesday, one day after Tuesday’s yet-to-be-called presidential election.Meanwhile, “Count Every Vote” protests spread in other cities, in opposition to Trump’s call to stop the vote counting in several battleground states. Earlier on Wednesday, Trump’s campaign announced lawsuits in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia in an attempt to stop the count of mail-in voting.Michigan is projected for Joe Biden. Trump holds narrow leads in Pennsylvania and Georgia, but he has cut Trump’s lead significantly on Wednesday.
