 SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The San Diego County Board of Supervisors will consider an appeal Wednesday intended to block construction of a Hindu temple on county land.Community members are concerned that a proposed Sringeri Vidya Bharati Foundation temple may increase traffic and have a "negative impact on community character," according to the county.The 10-acre building is proposed for a vacant 19-acre plot north of and adjacent to Old San Pasqual Road and south of State Route 78, between Summit Drive and San Pasqual Trail.The county Planning Commission approved a major land use permit for the temple in February.County Planning and Development Services officials recommend that supervisors deny the appeal so construction can move forward. 759

 The top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee said Sunday that he does not believe critical comments from a federal judge in Virginia will ultimately stop the special counsel's case against Paul Manafort."While, you know, it's certainly within the judge's prerogative to ask these questions, I don't think it really bears on the legal issues," California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff said on CNN's "State of the Union."On Friday, District Judge T.S. Ellis?caught the attention of many, including President Donald Trump, when he said special counsel Robert Mueller's team was interested in going after Trump's former campaign manager in a bank fraud case in order to get at Trump. Mueller's team is investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 election and any potential ties between Russia and Trump campaign associates.Schiff questioned some of Ellis' statements, adding that nevertheless, Mueller's decisions on who to charge rested on firm legal ground."I'm not sure that it's germane, for example, for the judge to be asking how much Bob Mueller has spent on the investigation," Schiff said. "It's appropriate to ask about the scope of what Bob Mueller is doing, but he is well within the scope of his jurisdiction in charging Manafort and (former national security adviser Michael) Flynn and the others."Ellis' pointed comments came after Manafort asked the judge to review Mueller's authority to bring charges in an investigation that began well before the special counsel's appointment and focused on actions years before the campaign.Schiff said that although he was concerned about the judge's statements, he believed Mueller would nevertheless prevail."I think that Bob Mueller will prevail in the sense of being able to go forward with this litigation," Schiff said. "I don't think there's really any legal question about that. But yes, it is concerning that the judge would express this opinion"Pro-Trump attorney Joseph diGenova highlighted the comments from Ellis at length on "Fox News Sunday," calling it the beginning of a "national civics lesson."DiGenova, who had been considered for Trump's legal team handling the Russia probe, did not think the judge would necessarily toss the case against Manafort out. However, he said Ellis could possibly prevent the inclusion of evidence seized during a raid on Manafort's home, which diGenova called improper."Judge Ellis may very well not dismiss the case," diGenova said. During the Season, it continued along with Sexual Harassment from a recurring guest star and the racist commentary & bullying from the Hair Dept. Head escalated into Sexual Assault at our Wrap party.The Sexual Harassment though reported directly to the Showrunner/EP remained undocumented and was not reported to HR as promised. The Hair Dept. Head was fired ONLY after the sexual assault and NOT for an entire year of outward racism/racially charged language and bullying behavior in and out of the Hair and Makeup trailer. HR protocol was never adhered to following the above reports given by me to my Showrunner/EP and an investigation was never issued for any of my claims. The only time I was asked to participate in an investigation was after a meeting I called in June following our Season 2 announcement. This meeting included the Showrunner and two other producers as well as my agent and SAG-AFTRA Union Rep. It was clear to all present in the meeting that the Showrunner had not shared my reports with the any of the producers. After my initial report of sexual harassment, I was assured that the actor would be fired. I was also asked to film with him the very next day as a courtesy to the script, even though we had not begun filming the episode yet. This actor reappeared on our call sheet at the end of the season, I was even written in scenes with him. I asked the Showrunner about this and he admitted to me that the actor had not been fired nor had he gotten HR involved. I was asked to return this season, and promised that “everything was handled.” The investigation hadn’t even begun and Season 2 had already started filming. I turned it down and I walked. Now is the best time in the world to be a woman and I have a platform so it’s time to use my Voice. Strength comes from within. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A woman was arrested Wednesday night after police say she hit her neighbor with her SUV in Chollas View.According to police, the incident happened on the 200 block of 47th Street near the 47th Street Trolley Station around 2 p.m. Police say the victim, only described as a 50-year-old white man, saw a woman, later identified as Tantrina Spencer-Simmons, 24, beating her 8-year-old sister with a belt. According to police, the victim confronted Simmons about the beating when she put her younger sister into a white Mitsubishi SUV. While the victim stood in the parking lot calling police, authorities say Simmons stepped on the gas and “intentionally ran over the male victim.”Simmons then fled the scene. Police say the victim sustained severe and life-threatening injuries. Police were able to locate and arrest Simmons on the 4500 block of Market Street around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. 915
