Creating an eating and sleeping schedule and sticking to it ahead of the school year can help them feel more prepared for a busy school year.To ease separation anxiety, Dr. Creel suggests sneaking a family picture or a sweet note into your child's backpack or lunch box."Something to show that after an eight hour day, a five hour day, a four hour day, there is still that connection and mommy and daddy aren't going anywhere," Dr. Creel said.When children get home, open communication is crucial, but sometimes what your child doesn't say is more telling."Sometimes it's a red flag. Why don't they want to talk about that? That's something that I think parents have to also keep in mind. Pay attention to the silence as well," Dr. Creel said.Homework can be a daunting task for the start of the school year. If a child is overwhelmed by their school work Dr. Creel suggests creating a work space for the individual child that is organized and away from distractions.If back-to-school shopping is in the budget, Dr. Creel says buying something new that your child can give an uneasy child an extra confidence boost. 2272

The paraplegic head football coach for Independence High School is claiming he was forced to "scoot down the aisle [of a plane] on his butt" and off the plane after United Airlines denied him an aisle chair on multiple flights.Tyler Schilhabel was injured in an ATV accident years ago and is disabled from the waist down. According to Schilhabel, he and his wife Courtney were traveling via United Airlines to the Dominican Republic for their honeymoon. Schilhabel says he booked his flights through Costco's travel program, and was scheduled to travel from Los Angeles to the Dominican Republic with a connecting flight in Chicago. The Schilhabel's were also scheduled for the same route coming home. According to Schilhabel, when they landed, the plane did not have an aisle chair to transport him off the plane. Schilhabel says his wheelchair is too big to fit down the aisle of a plane. Schilhabel says United Airlines also did not have a ramp or elevator to help him off the plane and only had stairs. According to Schilhabel, he had to scoot down the aisle "on his butt" and then had to hop down "step by step" to get to his wheelchair. Then on the Schilhabel's connecting flight in Chicago after the honeymoon, United Airlines also did not have an aisle chair. This time, Schilhabel says he and his wife had seats in the back of the plane. Schilhabel says he had to "scoot all the way down on my butt." On one of the flights, one of the flight attendants picked Shilhabel up and carried him down the aisle so he could catch his connecting flight. The Trump administration is planning to expand a procedure to speed up deportations to include undocumented immigrants anywhere in the US who cannot prove they've lived in the US continuously for two years or more.The change casts a wider net of undocumented immigrants subject to the fast-track deportation procedure known as "expedited removal," which allows immigration authorities to remove an individual without a hearing before an immigration judge.In doing so, the administration would be provided greater latitude in quickly deporting undocumented immigrants.Previously, undocumented immigrants who were caught within 100 miles of a land border and within 14 days of arrival were subject to the procedure.The notice, filed in the Federal Register Monday, drastically changes the designation of expedited removal to include undocumented immigrants nationwide who can't prove they've been in the country continuously for two years. Three young children are dead after a pickup truck drove into the back of an Amish horse-drawn carriage in south Michigan, state police said.The children, ages 2, 4 and 6, were traveling along an Algansee Township road on Friday when the pickup truck rear-ended their carriage, ejecting all of those inside, Michigan State Police said.Some of the other passengers, two adults and two children, were taken to hospitals in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Kalamazoo, Michigan, with serious injuries.The driver of the pickup truck, who has been identified as Tyler Frye, was arrested, State Police Sgt.
