Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua and British Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond co-chaired the 10th China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue, with extensive discussions ranging from macroeconomics and global economic governance, trade and investment, big project partnership to financial reform and financial market development and cooperation in new areas.

China has joined the organization since its inception, and has long been a major contributor to the agency's activities and especially to FAO's South-South Cooperation Program.

China advocates that all newly-proposed initiatives should be in favor of greater transparency and inclusiveness with wide participation, and fit in the era of integrated global economy, political pluralism and shared security, he said, adding none should undermine the interests of others or develop into exclusive military blocs, he said.

The two sides also pledged to continue increasing cooperation in culture, education, science, health, sports and other areas as well as expanding exchanges between media, art troupes and youth organizations.
