The Federal Bureau of Investigation has asked the public’s help in identifying members of a female gang who have been spotted in Middle Tennessee.  The FBI said Felony Lane Gang members use rental cars with tinted windows to watch you and your car in parking lots at gyms, daycares or anywhere someone might leave a purse in a car.They have been spotted in Nashville, Mt. Juliet, Gallatin and several other towns around the Metro area.When they see an opportunity, they'll swipe IDs, credit cards and checkbooks. Then, they hand all of that over to prostitutes and drug users they recruit to impersonate victims.Those women take stolen checks and IDs to multiple banks to withdraw large amounts of money -- all before the victims have a chance to close their accounts.According to authorities, they use the farthest window from the teller in bank drive-thru lanes. This drive-thru lane is commonly known as the "felony lane," which is what inspired their nickname.Investigators said they’re known to use wigs and other disguises to impersonate their victims at banks. The death of another Fort Hood soldier is under investigation after he was found unresponsive at a nearby lake.On Friday, July 17 at 12:07 a.m., deputy’s with the Bell County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the area of the Stillhouse Hollow Lake Dam after fishermen in a boat located what they believed to be a body in the water at the base of the dam.Upon arrival, deputy’s found the body 26-year-old Pvt. Mejhor Morta was located in the vicinity of Stillhouse Hollow Lake — located about 15 miles east of the Army base.An autopsy was ordered by Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin.A preliminary autopsy shows the cause of death to be consistent with drowning, but at this time, a full autopsy report has not been completed or released by the Medical Examiner’s Office in Dallas, Texas.Morta's body was found just weeks after officials found the dismembered remains of Pfc. Vanessa Guillen — a soldier stationed on Fort Hood who went missing in April. Officials have not said that the two cases are linked.Morta was from Pensacola, Florida, and entered the Army in September 2019, as a Bradley Fighting Vehicle mechanic. He has been assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, since May 2020.Friends of Morta say his family is from the Philippines."I reached out to his sister today and they are currently in the Philippines," said Hunter Proffitt, a friend of Morta. "He literally came over here, he joined the U.S. Army to help move his family over here. He wanted to move his family. The Carr Fire raging in Northern California is so large and hot that it is creating its own localized weather system with variable strong winds, making it difficult for experts to predict which way the blaze will spread.At least 19 people were still reported missing in Shasta County, California, officials said at a community meeting Monday evening, after shifting winds, dry fuel and steep terrain helped the monstrous fire engulf more than 103,000 acres.The fire has claimed six lives, including a firefighter and bulldozer operator working to extinguish the blaze.Authorities have received 48 missing person reports but 29 people have since been found safe, according to Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko.The fire, which started a week ago, has burned 103,772 acres and is just 23% contained, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, known as Cal Fire. It has scorched an area bigger than the size of Denver. 951

The Florida Senate on Monday passed Senate Bill 7026, The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act — a bill that raises the minimum purchasing age for a firearm to 21 and sets a program that allows for armed librarians, coaches and counselors.The bill now moves to the Florida House. It's not immediately clear when the House will take up the measure.The legislation works to address the issues presented by the Feb. 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, including firearm and school safety, and community mental health resources. The bill includes the following provisions:Mental HealthIn the area of mental health the legislation makes significant changes to keep firearms out of the hands of those suffering from mental illness: 800
