China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand launched joint patrols on the Mekong River in December 2011 after a gang hijacked two cargo ships on Oct. 5, 2011 in Thai waters and killed 13 Chinese sailors.

"They decided to enhance communication on UN peacekeeping, development cooperation, the 2030 agenda for sustainable development, food security, global health, and humanitarian assistance and disaster response."

Sierra Leone will continue to safeguard and develop its relations with China, enhance cooperation with China in such areas as development, healthcare and infrastructure, and carry out closer coordination in multilateral affairs, Koroma said.
