Hailing the lifted ties between China and Qatar as a "strategic partnership," agreed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Tamim in 2014, Li, chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, pledged to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two countries and strengthen exchange of legislation experiences.
"Egypt and China are countries with ancient civilizations...We were connected in the past by the maritime Silk Road which reached Alexandria," he said, referring to the northern Egyptian port city.
Xi encouraged both countries to expand cooperation in new areas driven by innovation.
The development and construction have begun in Xiongan New Area, as work has been started on projects including intercity railway between Beijing and Xiongan and the afforestation project, and the public service center has been put into use.
During the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games, the People's Republic of China made its debut at the Olympic Games, and for the first time China's national flag was raised at the Olympic arena, Xi said.
