EL CAJON (CNS) - A passenger in a vehicle was killed Sunday when its driver left the roadway in El Cajon and struck a light pole.The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, the El Cajon Police Department reported.The driver allegedly was speeding westbound on Chase Avenue when the vehicle hit the pole near Wilson Avenue. Police and firefighters were dispatched at approximately 6:45 a.m. to the crash scene in the area of Chase and Wilson avenues.The driver was extracted from the vehicle, treated at the scene and then taken to a local hospital, police said. During an Election Day appearance on Fox & Friends, President Donald Trump remained tight-lipped on reports that he would declare victory in the 2020 presidential race even if a significant portion of votes remained uncounted in key swing states.When asked when he would deliver a victory speech, Trump said simply, "when there's victory.""We won't play games," Trump said.The comments come days after Axios reported that three of Trump's confidants believe the President will deliver a victory speech "if it looks like he's 'ahead.'" Trump has also hinted at rallies that Republican lawyers will flood several key swing states with lawsuits in order to prevent some votes from being counted after Election Day.During his interview Tuesday, Trump decried a recent Supreme Court decision that upheld some state-imposed rules that allowed some state election boards to continue counting votes following Election Day.He also said it would be "bad for our country" if Americans don't know the outcome of the presidential election by Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.While analysts can often make a projection about the outcome of the race on Election Night, that doesn't mean election boards stop counting ballots. It typically takes several days for ballots to be counted and a week or two for the results of an election to be verified.This year, it will likely be much harder for analysts to make a projection about the presidential race due to a high number of mail-in ballots. In some states, like the key swing state of Pennsylvania, poll workers cannot begin processing mail-in votes until the morning of election day. EL CAJON (CNS) - A man and woman were sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2017 shooting death of a man in a botched holdup in the parking lot of a Burlington Coat Factory store in La Mesa, in which they made off with cash and three pairs of shoes taken from the victim. Derrick Eli Henderson, 32, and Kathryn Luwana Williams, 26, were convicted in July of murder and robbery charges for the death of 30-year-old Travis Lewis, who was gunned down on July 20, 2017, outside the Burlington Coat Factory store at 7938 El Cajon Blvd. Jurors deliberated for about two days before convicting Henderson and Williams of the killing, and finding true a special circumstance allegation of committing the killing in the commission of a robbery. The defendants met up with Lewis under the guise of purchasing marijuana from him -- a scheme orchestrated by Williams, who called the victim to arrange the meeting and brought Henderson along as muscle, according to Deputy District Attorney Kristian Trocha. Williams then took shoes the victim had just bought out of the trunk of his car and rifled through Lewis' pockets and took cash as he lay bleeding in the parking lot, but left behind marijuana that he had in his vehicle, Trocha said. In his closing argument, Trocha told the jury that Williams was ``just as responsible as if she pulled the trigger herself.'' Co-defendant Tiesha Miller-Johnson, 34, pleaded guilty to robbery and is slated to be sentenced later this month. Prosecutors said she was the getaway driver. Henderson's attorney, Yahaira Aristy, denied that he was the shooter, while the prosecution claimed that Henderson's DNA was found on the gun and that he told someone else that he ``domed that dude'' when talking about the robbery. Aristy also disputed testimony from Williams that after the shooting, Henderson threatened to kill her if she didn't take Lewis' belongings or if she told anyone about what happened. Dramatic video was recorded of deputies in Martin County, Florida chasing a suspected teen carjacker this past weekend.  According to a post on the sheriff's office Facebook page, a 17-year-old boy from Boynton Beach was traveling northbound at speeds of 100 mph on Interstate 95 in a stolen car.Over the weekend, deputies said they received a call about a suspected armed and dangerous carjacker moving through Martin County. 464
