MUNCIE, Ind. -- Muncie area hospitals are on the lookout for a woman accused of pretending to be pregnant to gain access to labor and delivery floors.Ball Memorial Hospital reported they are working with police and have alerted all personnel to be on the lookout for the woman.It is unclear at this time if there is any surveillance video of the woman and the hospital would not say whether they have identified her.Ball Memorial Hospital released the following statement Thursday:“While no related criminal activity has taken place or charges have been filed, hospital police, leadership and team members remain vigilant. The safety and the very best care of patients and guests are always the highest priority.”Community Health North Hospital, which delivers the most babies in Indiana, said it’s critical to run regular drills to make sure no one has access to newborns that shouldn’t.“As soon as a baby is delivered we put identification on a baby which does include a security tag,” said Jamie Phillippe, Director of NICU/PICU/Pediatrics at Community Health North. “Here down in delivery they could have anywhere from 70 to 80 moms and babies.”Phillippe said the maternity and newborn ICU units are locked down at all times and no one that isn’t supposed to be down there gets in but when situations like this arise they make sure to share the information with all staff members so everyone is aware and they pay constant attention to video feeds around the building.  1501

More college students are coming back home, trying to save money and pay off debt.The findings from a Junior Achievement study have parents shocked and concerned, and JA jumping into action.Leith Walk Elementary Middle School is one on JA's roster to visit and talk with, and the students are very aware of what it takes to be financially independent.Walking around Mr. Jason Peinert's 7th grade class, you hear students discussing their futures, "you should always have a plan b," one boy said. "I want to like have my own house, my own property, I don't want to be bossed around by my mom," Imeah Curbean, 13, said, smiling.Here they plan a path from education to a career that will support them in the future."My kids go through simulations with check registers, as well as understanding opportunity cost," Mr. Peinert said they also write essays on saving money for the future.During the group discussion, one student echoed the sentiment, saying you wouldn't want to make decisions that put you in a corner. One of the big decisions, how to achieve higher educationJA's new study on financial literacy shows 75% of teens are worried about paying for college.The next finding was disturbing, "only half of the kids said that they wanted to become independently financial from their parents," Senior Vice President Kim Fabian of the Central Maryland Junior Achievement Chapter said. Students told them, they understand the financial strains of paying for college and, for many, the reality after graduating is to move back home to save money and pay off debt, earning the nickname "Boomerang Generation"."What we find works the best is when kids are actually doing things that will relate to what they'll be doing in the real world, so we try to create experiences while they're still in school that will help them learn those skills like communication, teamwork, how to be on time for things, what questions they should be asking, how to do a good job interview," Fabian said real world experience is key.Junior Achievement has a list of schools and programs on their website to get involved in. NEAR CALIENTE, Nevada — Two single-engine planes collided Thursday afternoon while trying to contain a wildfire near Caliente, Nev., according to the Federal Aviation Administration.KTNV in Las Vegas, reports the collision occurred at about 1 p.m. MT between two Air Tractor AT8T airplanes. They were deployed to help battle the Bishop Fire, burning about 17 miles from Caliente and more than two hours northeast of Las Vegas.Officials say one person was aboard each aircraft at the time of the crash, and the Bureau of Land Management later confirmed the pilots died in the collision.“We offer our sincere condolences to the families of the two pilots and to all those working with the BLM Nevada Ely District,” said BLM Nevada State Director Jon Raby.Ground and aerial resources continued to take on the Bishop Fire in Rainbow Canyon as of Thursday afternoon, with the blaze approximately 500 acres.The airplanes involved are used to support firefighters on the ground and can deliver up to 800 gallons of fire retardant and operate in areas where larger air tankers cannot, according to the BLM. 1106
